CHAPTER 43: confession 2

Alessandro's POV;

She looked slightly startled as she stared at me, but was quick to calm down. Her gaze lingered on me for a while before moving towards her barely touched coffee.

"Why don't we get you something to drink?" She seemed to be sounding me out as she asked. Her usual confidence was definitely not there. Making me wonder what was wrong!

"Sure. Excuse me, I'd like to get the same as her, thank you." I let the waiter know what I wanted before looking at her. She was doing her very best trying to avoid my eyes. "What happened? Little kitty, suddenly calling me over in the middle of the night, could it be you missed me?" I was only joking when I said it. But, her reply mad me widen my eyes.

"I did." She said it in such a low voice that I thought I was hearing things.

"What did you just say? I don't think I heard you right!" I really wanted to make sure I heard right!

"You don't need to use such a cliche line, I know you heard it. I said I really missed you!" This time, I'm certain I heard right! Saying I was over the moon would be an understatement! I saw that she was looking at me, as if trying to gauge my reaction. I didn't show much on my face though, except a slight curvature of my lips, that is!

"Actually, there was something I really needed to tell you."

"I'm listening." If I didn't know better, looking at her state, I would have thought she was trying to confess to me. The waiter brought my drink at that very moment. I thanked him before turning back to Lexi, showing that I was listening.

"I like you! No, love you! Be my boyfriend??"

"Pshhh." I chocked on my coffee which I was trying to down. She looked shocked before getting some tissues to help me out. I coughed a little more before calming down.

But damn! That came out of nowhere! She likes me? No she said love!? I felt like I was on cloud nine!! Happiness came way too quickly.

I looked at her only to see her chuckling. Wait, shouldn't she look nervous and be anticipating my answer? Or could it be she got super confident since I had been chasing after her? When did she even start falling for me? How come I never noticed?

"Haha." This time she laughed a bit louder, which was super confusing!

"This is the first time I've seen you show basically everything your thinking on your face. Should I take it as a yes then?" She was grinning widely at me, showing me that mesmerizing smile.

But what did she just say? I turned towards my reflection on the window, only to see myself with a foolish smile staring right back!

I hurriedly masked my expressions, reverting back to my cold expressionless face. That earned another cheerful laugh from the beautiful angle before me. I let out a slight chuckle as well. I don't care anymore! Even if she was a spy, I don't care anymore!

"You can't back out anymore piccolo gatto!" (Little kitty)

"I wasn't planning on it. But, what was it that you said last?" She smiled at me sweetly! Or maybe the boost in our relationship is making me feel as such. Is this what they call butterflies in the stomach?

"It means little kitty."

"Why do you call me as such?" She looked genuinely confused, making me smile again. If my men had seen me tonight, my prestige would most definitely be gone!

"Hmm..I wonder why too! It just suits you I guess, or I could call you something else, babe maybe?"
I saw her blush furiously at that. Wow, making her blush is that easy?

"Actually, there are some things about me that I can't tell you just yet. But, I promise I will...someday! I really do love you though!" She sounded like she was worried I would doubt her love.

"Since you have already become my girlfriend, no matter what, I'm not letting you go. Besides, everyone has secrets. We can just share them with each other in due time."
