Lexis POV;

Around 20 minutes after I started from the Alfonso's home, I reached the location stated in the text I received.

It was an abandoned factory, that had been built only halfway. The surrounding was nothing but bare land. What a spot! The whole place was dark and eery.

Parking my car without much thought, I headed into the factory. Standing at the very bottom I can easily see through the floors all the way to the 5th floor of this incomplete building.

I looked around a bit, looking for any trace of a living creature, while keeping up my vigilance. I have to say, I am a bit afraid of the darkness, not that I will let it be shown on my face, especially in a situation like now.

Suddenly, I felt movement from behind me.

An attack!

I turned hurriedly, raising my hand in the process, just in time to catch the flying dagger!

"Clap..clap". The loud clapping sound cut through the deep silence. "As ready as ever I see."

I kept on a blank face while replying to the voice. "Hmph...what? You didn't expect it?"

Other than a deep laugh I didn't get a response. I stared at the silhouette that was slowly moving out of the darkness.

"It seems you haven't been beaten enough by me in our previous duels, that you came out to see me today...Dimitri!" I stated just as Dimitris face came into the light.

"Well..well..it seems you guessed long ago that I was the one who sent the text. I didn't think you'd actually keep my number.."

"I didn't." I interrupted him.

"What?!" He asked a bit clueless.

"I didn't keep your number. I'm not stupid. It's just not too hard to remember." I explained while staring straight at him.

He laughed out at that, although I don't see what's so funny.

"Why'd you want to see me Dimitri?" I went straight to the point.

He stopped laughing then, and looked at me a bit...worried? "I'm sure you already know of his movements?"

I raised a brow at what he said. "I do. My brother notified me that your men..well technically his men are starting to enter our territory."

"Not just yours, he is aiming at both the Italian and American mafia." Leaning against a standing pole, he continued. "You maybe his biggest aim, but you should know how power hungry he is as well. Besides everyone knows your two mafias don't get along well, which just opens up an opportunity for him."

"Are you telling me to get our two mafias together? Like an alliance?" I frowned at him. What he is implying is more than just difficult to achieve.

"Yes. After all he has his own as well." I widened my eyes at that. "You guessed right. He made an alliance."

I calmed my expression before asking, "who?"

"The Mexicans. That's all I can tell you for now. I have to get going now."

"Aren't you worried about what would happen if he found out about this?" I asked him sincerely.

"Nothing much probably. He won't be too mad, considering our relationship. Bye now." He disappeared the way he came after saying that.

Who are you trying to fool. He never cared about the relationship between you two. You don't believe those words yourself, Dimitri!

I looked at where Dimitri left, before going back to my car. I have to notify big brother.

Hey all, a bonus chapter, cause I just felt like it.

I don't do this much, but I'm dedicating this chapter to MariyamMarsha1 for supporting my decision to write this book in the first place.🥰
