CHAPTER 23: I'm straight!

Alessandros POV;

"Forgive us sir, but we lost miss Dennis."

I cut of the call after listening to my men's report. I sent some men after Alexis, just to make sure she was alright. She went out in too much of a hurry!

What I didn't expect tho, was that my men couldn't actually keep up with her.

"She is definitely more than just a normal college girl. You sure you don't want to investigate more?" James said while reclining comfortably on the couch in my study.

"No. I want to know everything about her, but from her, and not by digging it all out." I smiled while arranging the files on my desk.

"Are you sure? She could be from a mafia background. Even a spy!"

I knew what James said was logical, but unlike other times, I'm not gonna go with the logical route. I'm going to listen to my heart this time!

"Drea trusts her fully, and I think I want to as well. So I don't care about her background for now. I'll know when I'll know."

"Very well. I'll support you then. After all it's not everyday you're interested in a girl." After saying his piece, James got up from the couch. "I'll get going now. It's getting late."

I gave a grunt in acknowledgement.

The next day, after going through various files and deals, I finally got some free time at noon.

"Danké!" I called my assistant at the office. "Get the car ready, and I'm going alone. No one is to follow."

I took about ten more minutes to wrap up all the important work, before going to the underground garage.

I drove my car to Café Dawn and found an empty parking spot nearby. Entering the café, I spotted her almost at once, sitting there with her gorgeous hair tied in a ponytail, playing with her phone.

Walking up to her, I called to get her attention. "Hello, mind if I take a seat?"

Alexis looked towards me, and I could see the obvious surprise on her face. "Uh..sure. Feel free to." She quickly masked her surprise and smiled at me.

She looks even more breathtaking with a smile on her face, especially when it's directed at me!

"Your waiting for Drea right. She had something urgent to do, and couldn't make it. Her phone also ran out of charge, so she told me to come see you instead."

She doesn't need to know I bought off my sister, right?

"Oh..she shouldn't have disturbed you with something so trivial. Sorry."

Although I didn't really show much of a smile from the very beginning, I'm sure she should've noticed my mood had dimmed with her sentence.

"But..what if it's because I wanted to come?" I stopped beating around the bush and spoke.

"Huh?....oh, could it be you wanted my help again with romantic matters. I'm not really an expert either." While I was tongue tied at her obliviousness, she continued to speak.

"But, if you really like this person, whether girl or boy, I'm sure they would accept you if you just confess. You're quite great really."

"You think so?" I asked, my mood improving. But then it hit me! "What do you mean by girl or boy? I'm straight!"

My voice rose a bit at the last bit. But seriously, even she thought I'm gay. Correct that, she probably thinks I'm bi, doesn't she?

"Uh..I'm sorry..I..I di..didn't know!" She was all flustered as she apologized. My frustration flew out the window as I saw her acting so cute, at least in my eyes she looked especially adorable!
