CHAPTER 27: you can always choose sister in law!

I looked at Alessandro's smug face, and was at a loss for words!

Damn!!!

Alessandro's POV;

I looked at her dumbfounded expression and chuckled lightly. She looked so adorable. I had a sudden urge to pinch her lovely cheeks. Will that feel nice!?

"Alessandro!!!" I was startled when Alexis shouted my name.

"Ya..uh..what did you say? Sorry, I was thinking about something." I let out a fake cough to cover up my embarrassment, as Alexis rolled her eyes at me.

"I said..are you staying longer. I'm meeting Drea in a while to go have some fun, I don't know where...anyway..do you..wanna join?"

She seemed hopeful which made me glad and guilty at the same time as I gave my answer.

"Lexi..I'm thrilled you asked me, but I'm afraid I have something important to attend to." I looked as her eyes dimmed a bit. I didn't like seeing her sad, but does this also mean that she might actually like me. Why would she deny me then tho?

"Going with nicknames now huh? And it's fine, I understand you might have something important to do." She smiled that breathtaking smile of hers. She really did look like she understood.

"I told you to call me Zandro too, didn't I?! I'm calling you Lexi now, so it's only fair if you call me a nickname too." I gently looked at the lady occupying my entire heart.

Lexi laughed a little at my statement. "Well..in that case..I'll call you..Mr. stupid! How do you like it?"

I frowned at that. "Tch..don't think a nickname like that can drive me away. Someday, I'll make you call me something more intimate." I smirked at her blushing face before continuing.

"You should go back now. Drea will probably go against me if I make you late."

"Alright then. See you..Zandro." she ran away before I could say anything. She called me Zandro. Haha..looks like I might actually succeed sooner than I thought!

I was looking at the direction where Lexi disappeared when Roman and the men came over.

"Boss! Those guys from the Russian side haven't made any moves yet, but we found that they have people from a different mafia as well. Two may have allied, which maybe bad for us!"

I returned my face to it's usual cold expression before facing the group of men who came with me. "Any updates from the American side?"

"James is looking into it. We haven't got anything yet. So.. are you really going to interrogate that spy we discovered yourself? You don't really need to do that you know, my brother is more than capable of getting something out of him."

I knew Roman was right, but I wanted to do this. I haven't had much fun these days anyway, this shall be it then. I know I'm cruel, but this is how I am!

"I'll do it myself. Lets go over now." I let the men walk away to start the cars. "Ah right! Roman..you don't need to go to that mission in Africa this time. Its your reward since your idea worked."

"I don't! Seriously! Wait! This is because my idea worked well in you pursuing a girl. It never worked despite all my begging before. You don't love your bestfriend anymore. Ah my heart. How mean of you Zandro."

I looked at Romans dramatic acting before leaving a sentence and walking off. "You can continue with the mission then, since you seem like you really want to go."

"Who says so. You can choose sister in law over us bros anytime. Nobody would complain." Roman said while running after me.

His idea of bootlicking is too obvious, but I would never let him know that it actually had me brimming inside.
