31 - You

Your POV

Tonight was very emotional. I went to everyone's room and gave them a big hug. It was amazing what you can learn and who you can meet in a month. I've never experienced what it was like to have this big of a family before. The thought of them leaving was painful, but in a way, I was familiar with the feeling.

"Don't worry (Y/N), we'll look out for each other. We'll come back safe! I'm gonna beat those titans!"

Eren yelled out. That kid had so much confidence and determination, I loved it. I looked at Mikasa and nodded. I knew she was gonna end up saving his ass.

Armin gave me a longer hug. I could see the fear in his eyes. I smoothed down the strands of his hair. Surprisingly after everything, our relationship wasn't awkward.

"Remember, you are smart and talented. They're going to need you. Don't put yourself down and it's okay to be scared. You'll figure things out, I know you will."

Sasha and Connie were bawling which caused me to cry as well. I was gonna miss them, but if I want to be optimistic, then I know this won't be the last time I'll see them. They'll be back.

I walked to Levi's room still in tears. I don't intend to tell anyone about me training. I don't even know how to bring it up. Knowing them, they won't like the idea. Commander Erwin agreed to keep it from Levi as well. Hanji is the only one who knew since she would be in charge of training me.

It won't hurt if they don't know for now.

If it comes up, I'll deal with it then. I know it's something I can't hide forever.

*knock knock*

"It's me."

I called out. A few minutes passed before the door opened. Levi stood there in a towel, his hair was still dripping from his bath. He saw that my eyes were puffed up. My sadness was replaced temporarily by embarrassment.

He reached out to give me a hug, and I was too late to stop him. His body emitted warmth which was comforting, but super awkward at the same time.

"L-Levi?"

"Shhh... it's okay, I understand how you feel."

"N-no.. it's just- p-please put on some clothes first."

My face was burning at this point. I pushed him away gently, thankfully he let go. He looked at me with no shame. His brows furrowed slightly.

"I'm sorry I prioritized comforting you before dressing myself."

He replied sarcastically. His comment made me laugh. I pushed him playfully. Before entering, I had to remember to dust off my shoes. Levi went to his room to change while I made us some tea.

We sat down on the couch and I intertwined our legs as we talked. Levi seemed weirded out by it at first, but he saw that it made me content.

"Take care of them please."

"I'll do my best (Y/N)."

My eyes started to well up with tears again.

"They're so young... I-I don't understand why the world is so cruel."

I buried my face in my hands as I sobbed. I felt the cushions shift. Levi sat closer and slowly pulled me to his chest. I cried there for a bit.

"Life isn't fair (Y/N)... but you have to keep looking forward."

He was right. Nat and I lost our parents and had a pretty rough childhood, but we got through it. Look where that got us.

*sniffle*

"Okay... Just come back alive."

"I promise."

As sad as it is, out of everyone I knew Levi would defined come back. I've heard many stories of how amazingly strong he was. It gave me hope.

I looked up at him and was surprised. The range of emotion on his face was enticing. I could tell he really cared about me.

I slowly moved closer. His dark blue eyes stayed focused on mine. He didn't flinch. His face came closer as well. My eyes fluttered closed when I felt his lips touch mine in the softest way.

I noticed that our lips barely moved against each other. After a while, I couldn't hold it anymore and I let out a laugh. Levi pulled away in panic.

"Oi! What's so funny?!"

"It was your first kiss wasn't it?"

He blushed which caused me to laugh harder.

"Why?! Was this not your first kiss too?"

He fired back. I wiped the tears from my eyes.

"N-no it was haha! But I thought you would be more experienced."

Levi went quiet and looked the other way.

Awww he's such a baby!

"Heyyy~ its okayyy! It was a very sweet first kiss. Thank you."

I forced his arms around me and looked into his eyes.

"Plus, we can always practice right?"
