I can't help it, even when finally making my way into the classroom, I'm hoping Gavin being in here is an hallucination. I think maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.

It's not like I have anything against him, but something about me makes me wary.

"Bella!" The teacher motions for me to come over to her desk.

She is a middle aged women with her hair pulled back into a low pony tail.

"Everybody!" She claps her hands together to gain every bodies attention. "This is Bella Duffy." She says to the class. "I'm Ms. Gregory." She smiles down at me. "You can go take a seat next to Mr. Johnson."

She points over to an empty desk which just so happens to be right next to Gavin. The universe is messing with me, I swear.

I walk over to the empty desk next to Gavin and set my stuff down. I begin to listen and take notes to Ms. Gregory's lecture.

It's going to take a lot of work to get caught up to where they are in the year.

"Can I borrow a pen?" Gavin whispers in my ear. How do you forget to bring a writing utensil to class? That's like the number one priority.

"You didn't bring one?" I keep my eyes concentrated on the chemical equation on the bored. Writing down almost everything the teacher wrote down.

"Nope." He says popping the 'p'.

"Here." I say handing him my red pen that I keep in my binder. He takes the pen and I go back to writing down the notes.

"Thanks, babe." He whispers in my ear, making me shiver. Not because of what he said but because his hot breath fanning against my ear. I turn to a smirking Gavin.

"Don't call me babe." I warn. He doesn't answer only has that stupid smirk plastered to his face. Turning my head back around to the board I continue to write every thing down.

The bell rings, finally, and I practically jump out of my seat and run to the door. I remember Hailey saying she was in my history class so I head over to her locker.

Luckily she's still here.

"Hey." I smile at her. Her locker is decorated with pictures of the cheer team and her and what I would guess her sister, only because they look almost identical.

"Hey, girl. Ready to go to the best class ever." Sarcasm laced in her voice making me laugh.

"Of course not." I laugh again.

History is and will always be the worst subject known to man. I don't get why we have to learn about what happened in the past. It would be cool if we could learn about the future though. Even though that's kind of impossible.

We both walk to history, and just like I suspected it was boring as hell. Not to mention the teacher was as boring as watching a dog sleep.

The only thing that I kind of worship the ground he walks on for, is he didn't make me go up in front of the class and give them a quick over view of my life. Hallelujah!

The thing is, even if I wasn't tired I would still probably fall asleep in his class, but hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

"Hey little sister." Devon smiles down at me as I pack my stuff for the end of the day.

"Hey big brother. Ready to drive me home?" I smirk and his smile falters.

I don't get why it's so hard to take your little sibling to and from school when your going there anyway. Lazy. That's why. Or just plan rude and mean.

"I guess, when are you going to get a car though?" He asks.

"Want to buy me one?" I ask hopefully and he laughs. I'm guessing that's a no.

We walk out to the parking lot and out to his truck. My phone beeps in my bag and pull it out to see my best friends name flash across the screen.

I only have one friend that I've stayed in touch through the years of moving. I met her in California. We've been talking ever since. She's a really good friend, and I don't know what I would do without her.

Rosalie: How was your first day at school? I miss u <3

I smile down at the screen and immediately respond.

Me: It was good. Really interesting and everyone is pretty nice. Except for the annoying player. Miss you too <3

I slide my phone back in my back pack as we pull up into the drive way.

Walking into the kitchen to find a snack I see a note taped to the fridge.

'Kids, i'm working late tonight. I left some money in the drawer so order some dinner. Love you, Mom'

"Devon!" I scream. I hear thudding coming down the stairs and Devon appears in the door way to the kitchen panting and looking panicked.

"What?! What's wrong?!" He frantically asks. Oops. I guess it kind of did sound alarming the way I screamed for him.

"Sorry, I just wanted to tell you mom is working late so we have to fend for ourselves." I sheepishly smile. His eyes turn to slits as he glares at me.

"Jesus, Bella! I thought there was a murderer or something." He runs his hand through his hair. "Well, I'm going to a friends so you'll be by yourself."

Before I even have a chance to object he's sprinting out the door and away from hearing range.

"Dammit Devon!" I yell. Well, this should be fun. Usually I wouldn't mind being home alone but since I have no friends to invite over I'm sure to be bored. I decide to call Rosalie. Luckily, she answers on the second ring.

"Bella! Hey girl!" She screams through the phone making me flinch away. She's always this loud by the way.

"Hey. Did you really have to scream that?" I groan. She laughs and I find myself smiling as well.

"Sorry. How was school, best friend." I hear her munching on something. She must be eating, again. She's always eating when I call. Rosalie's always eating, period.

"Are you eating again. Every time I call your always eating something." I laugh at her.

"Yea, you want some? Oh wait! You cant because your not here." She whines making me laugh harder.

"Your so lame." I giggle at my weird ass friend.

"I know. Anyway how was school?" She asks while munching again. Weirdo.

"Well, I met this girl named Hailey and she's in my first, second and sixth hour. Oh, she's in my lunch to and I even met some of her friends." I explain.

"Whoa, whoa. I read in the text you sent, that there is some kind of player. Care to share?" She asks.

Did I really tell her that? Great now I have to explain every thing.

"Right. Well he's pretty annoying and I've heard that he sleeps with a different girl every week and then disses her. Also he's annoying because he's in my first and fifth hour, he's a senior though, but he's in my classes because I take advance classes and he asked me for a pen today. Like who doesn't bring a pen? And then he kept calling me babe!" I through my hands up in the air fuming. Maybe to some people it's not annoying but to me it is.

I talked way to fast, I need to catch my breath.

"Maybe he likes you." She suggests.

"No. If he does than its because he wants sex. Nothing else." I laugh and she joins in. We continue to talk about school and of course boys.
