"They could attack you, Bella!" Richard scolds me as I run up to the geese that are currently wandering around the park looking for food. God I wish I brought some bread.
"They won't attack me," I scoff with amusement. "They're just birds, the only thing they would attack is bread."
That's not entirely a lie. Sure if you get on their wrong side they could get angry and attack you, but I mean all I'm doing is chasing them.
"Yes they can! Ever seen those movies where people get pecked to death by crows or some shit?!" The visual alone makes me stop what I'm doing and turn towards Richard who has a deep scowl on his face.
"Come on, Richard, stop being a party pooper," I pout and reach for his hand, taking it in mine to drag him along with me.
"I'm not a party pooper, I'd just rather not die from geese attacking me."
"Richard, I promise that they won't attack you," I try to reason with him. He doesn't seem to be budging, though. "Fine, if you don't want to chase geese, then what do you want to do?"
"Hmm," Richard taps his chin while thinking of something to do for the rest of the day.
It's only about One and I'd rather not go home yet. Devon won't be home until two-thirty, but I don't want to be there when he comes back from school.
To be quite honest with you, I'm kind of hurt by his comments this morning. Sure I made a bet with Gavin and went on a date with him, but that doesn't mean that I have to have his consent to do so. I understand that he wants to protect me and care for me, but that doesn't mean he has to get all mad every time I do something without his permission or something he doesn't want me to.
"Oo, Laser Tag!" Richard snaps his fingers with an excited look etched to his face.
"Pardon me?"
"Laser Tag. It's really fun, have you ever been?"
"No, and frankly I don't ever want to."
"Oh come on. You get to shoot people with guns," -I raise my eye brows-"Laser guns."
"That's what I thought," I mutter and begin to walk towards the pond were the geese are. What can I say? I love geese and ducks.
"Bella! Please, I'll do anything you want," Richard pleads with me, grabbing my wrist and spinning me around to face him.
"It sounds boring," I whine.
"Oh please, out of all the girls I know you are the most likely one to enjoy shooting people."
"With real guns!" I have to admit that sounded really wrong in many ways, but I mean if I had to shoot someone it would be better if it was a real gun and not a laser one.
"Same thing! Except you don't kill them, you get them out of the game."
I think about it for a second. How would this benefit me, anyway? I would much rather do paint ball or something. Shooting people with lasers is like child's play.
"Fine," I groan and I'm glad I agreed because the look on Richard's face was the happiest I've ever seen him.

"Okay, so this is the trigger, and this is the aimer," Richard goes over all the things on the gun. It's not that complicated there's only like two things. You shoot and try to get people out. What more is there to it?
"Got it," I nod, and he keeps talking. "Got it." Talking. "Got it!"
"Sorry," he smiles sheepishly. "Ready to go, partner?"
