I walk into the classroom shortly after Gavin does and as I make my way towards the teacher, he looks up from his paper work.

"Oh, Bella come here," He instructs, ushering me towards his desk. How did I know this was coming? "Class this is Bella, she's new here and I expect you all to give her your most respect."

I've always hated when teachers do this. It's like I think people would notice if there's a new student in the class.

"Go sit over by Hailey." I nod my head and take the seat next to a brown haired girl.

"Hi, I'm Hailey." She extends her hand out for me to shake.

"I'm Bella Duffy," I introduce back, reaching my hand out to shake her's. It takes about a second until her eyes widen, a look of astonishment covering her face.

"Oh my gosh! Your Devon Duffy's little sister!" She squeals, earning a few glares from fellow students that were working.

I blush as some eyes land in me as well. "Yeah."

"That's so cool! Devon's a real hunk," she winks at me, making my insides shrivel with disgust. I really didn't need to know that.

It's not like I don't know he's good looking, I'm sure almost every girl is over him, but I'd rather not know that.

"Okay, then," I mumble, blowing out a breath as I awkwardly wipe my hands on my thighs. My hands get sweaty when I'm in an uncomfortable situation. Also known as this current one.

Hailey starts giggling out of nowhere. "I'm just joking, he's not my type."

I smile, that's nice to know.

"Anyways," she sighs. "I saw you talking to Gavin Johnson outside."

I frown, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion. Gavin? Gavin - oh! The guy that I was talking to outside. Duh.

"Oh," I nod. "Yeah, he was showing me the way to class. My brother ditched me so I was kind of lost."

That was kind of a lie, but the way Hailey said his name sounded weird and I don't want to be in that mess. They're probably exes or something.

At the thought, I turn my head to where Gavin sits in the back. He's talking to a guy around his age, laughing about something before his gaze meets mine. He smirks, and I immediately shy away.

"Well," she swallows, lowering her voice a bit. "I just wanted to let you in on the loop before you start acting all buddy buddy towards him."

"Oh I wasn't-"

"Basically unless you're looking for a one night hook up," she looks at me pointedly. "I wouldn't get involved. He doesn't do the whole dating thing and I'd hate for you to become infatuated with him only to find-"

"I literally just met him outside," I chuckle slightly. "Don't worry, I doubt we'll be talking any more than that."

She doesn't look convinced, but before she can grill me further, the teacher begins talking.

"Do you need help finding your next class?" Hailey asks from beside me. She's actually really nice and I don't mind the help.

"Yeah, actually I have to get to calculus," I tell her looking back down at my map. "With Mrs. Nowak."

"Ooo I have that class too! Let me see the rest of your schedule," She orders before I give it to her. She seems to study it long and hard before clapping her hands together. "We have lunch and sixth hour with Mr. Taylor."
