"Will you wait for me?" Caius asked her. They were already in the airport for his departure.

She nodded and smiled at him, she even clung her arms to his nape. "I will, Caius. I will still be here when you come back," she answered, planting a quick kiss on his lips.

Caius will be gone for three years. Gusto sana niyang magalit dahil gumagawa talaga ang kapatid n'ya ng paraan para mapag hiwalay silang dalawa, ngunit wala siyang magawa dahil sinang-ayunan na iyon ng huli. Caius really wanted to please her brother and her Kuya Jordan is taking advantage of it.

"I will marry you as soon as I come back," Caius promised.

"Don't make me wait too long..." she said.

Agad namang kumunot ang noo ni Caius sa sinabi n'ya. "Bakit, mag babago ba ang isip mo pag masyado akong matagal? Baby, I'll be gone for three years, magbabago ba ang isip mo?"

Natawa naman siya sa sinabi nito. "My mind will never change, Caius. Mag-iintay ako pero huwag sanang masyadong matagal dahil excited na ako maging asawa mo. I can't wait to wear your name," she said.

"I can't wait to make you my wife too. Hintayin mo ako, okay?" he asked, making her promise.

"I will, I promise," she promised.

Caius smiled and kissed her on the forehead and said, "I'll see you soon, baby. I love you."

"I love you, more," she replied.

As soon as Caius departed, she drove straight to her next destination. She went inside the restaurant and she was immediately led inside the VIP room. Inside was Maverick waiting patiently for her, a wineglass in his hand.

"Sorry I'm late," she said.

Maverick shook his head. "You're just on time. I just opted to be here early," he said. "How's Caius?" he also asked.

"He's on the plane already. Anyway, thank you for coming," she said.

A week ago, with the help of Easton, she asked if he could lend her a time to this talk. She really wants to clear everything with him because she's tired of hating him for what happened years ago.

"It's nothing. This talk has been overdue, let's just get this over," he answered coldly.

Maverick changed. First thing that came in her mind is, he was no longer the funny and cool Maverick she used to know. The guy who's sitting in front of her right now has this unfathomable aura surrounding him. He feels like a different person with the same face as Maverick.

"I don't want to live the rest of my life hating you and in order for me to have peace about that, I need to have this closure," she started. "I want things clarified between us, Maverick. I want us to be finally okay with our past," she added.

"Did you, even once, love me?" he asked straightforwardly.

And without thinking she answered, "I did, Maverick. I loved you. I was in love with you genuinely."

"And you love him again after loving me?" he asked.

She nodded. "He was my first love, Maverick. I had dreamed of him for the longest before I learned to love someone else, before I fell in love with you. He will always have a special space in my heart even if we don't end together. But that doesn't mean that I loved you less, because I loved you the way I know you deserved," she answered.

She saw Maverick sighing deeply and shaking his head. "You are so willing to do everything for him, I wonder if you would be like that to me if I was in his shoes," he said.

"I already did, Maverick. That day I caught you with someone else was also the day that I was so willing to compromise with all your demands. Masyado kitang minahal na handa akong ibuwis ang lahat-lahat. I even choose you over my Dad, that it hurts me until now," she answered.

"You were so blinded by your jealousy that you forgot to think rationally, Maverick. You didn't know how much it pained me seeing you in that situation; you, the guy whom I'm in love with so much and that girl in that intimate position. It felt like I was stabbed straight to my heart," she added, tears started to swell up from her eyes.

"Do you know what's inside my mind during that time?" she asked. "Na paano mo nagawa ang bagay na iyon sa akin yun? Bakit sa lahat ng pwede mong gawin, bakit ganun pa? Na kung gusto mo pala ng ganun, bakit hindi na lang sa akin?" she said, whispering her last sentence. "I was so desperate to even consider that, Maverick!"

"Jordyn..." Maverick uttered her name.

"But those were in the past already and I'm telling you these for us to have the closure we both needed a long time ago. We need this to continue living without resentment for each other," she added.

Maverick heaved a sigh. "I'm sorry, Jordyn. If I made you feel insecure and for all the pain I have caused you. I was so insecure and jealous that I made reckless decisions and I regret hurting you, losing you just because I didn't trust you enough. I doubted your love for me, if I only think better that time, you might still be mine," he said.

"It has been done, Maverick," she said.

Maverick nodded. "I know. Nothing could ever change what already happened in the past. But I want to tell you that you will still have a special space in my heart and no one can ever replace you," he added.

"Maverick..." she uttered her name.

Maverick shook his head. "But these are all I need to hear to finally move forward. I regret losing you but I know that it's already over," he said. "I'm wishing you happiness, Jordyn. And I want you to remember that I will love you still even though we are not meant for each other," he added. He stood and walked to the door, but before he could finally leave, she spoke her last words.

"I wish you happiness as well, Maverick. I'm wishing you'll find the right girl that will love you and you will love without doubting her feelings for you," she said.

"I'm fine with just myself right now. I don't need someone anymore," he answered before finally leaving.
