The day of her birthday came. Halos ilang araw din siyang hindi makatulog sa kakahintay sa araw na ito at ngayong dumating na nga ay sobrang saya n'ya.

"This isn't the first time that you're having a party. Stop acting like that!" her Kuya Jordan scolded her. Kanina pa kasi sya hindi mapakali sa kakaikot sa sobrang pagka-excite.

"But this is the first time that I'll be celebrating it with Maverick. His family and friends are coming!" she answered.

"Ewan ko sa'yo, Jordyn," sagot na lang nito sa kanya at hinayaan na siya sa ginagawa niya.

By noon, they were already in the resort. Ala-cinco pa naman ang start ng party n'ya pero kailangang nandun na s'ya para i-double check ang lahat. She wanted to hands on everything to assure its success.

"Happy Birthday, Jordyn!" Van greeted her while handing her gift. Isa ito sa mga unang dumating sa venue.

"Thank you, Van! Tara sa table natin," aya n'ya rito.

Hinatid niya ito sa lugar nila tapos ay muling bumalik sa entrance ng pool area para salubungin ang kanyang mga bisita. She invited some friends from their old school and their current as well. Hindi naman ganun karami pero hindi rin ganun kaunti.

"Happy Birthday, baby..." Maverick greeted her. He kissed her on the forehead before handing her his gift.

"Thank you. Buksan ko na?" she asked. Maverick nodded.

They were in one side of the venue. The party has started half hour ago and everyone have started enjoying themselves. Habang sila, nag so-solo sa isang sulok kung saan nila maririnig ng maayos ang lahat.

"You can," he approved.

Excited naman niyang binuksan ang bigay nito. She took out a rectangular box from the paper box, it was a red velvet box.

"Jewellery?" she asked.

"Hmm... Just open it," Maverick said.

She did. From the box was a thin gold necklace with three small hearts as a pendant of it.

"Ang ganda," all she could react. Maverick took it from the box and gestured to her to turn around for him to put it on her neck.

"Do you like it?" he then asked him. She nodded and leaned on his chest.

"I love it," she answered. "Thank you," she added, looking up at him.

Maverick smiled and kissed the top of her head. "Anything for you, baby..." he said.

They talked a bit more before going back to their table where their friends are. Kumpleto ang mga kaibigan niya dati nilang school at ang mga kaibigan ni Maverick sa isang cottage. It was like a mini reunion for them.

"Ito na pala ang birthday girl!" Gavin shouted as they come. Tapos ay nag simula itong kumanta na sinabayan naman ng lahat.

"Thank you, guys! Enjoy lang kayo, ha?" she said before settling beside Van. Maverick sat beside her too.

Van isn't smiling and her brows were furrowed. Hindi na niya kailangang magtanong dahil alam na niya ang dahilan. Hindi lamang ito maka-obra dahil naroon din sa cottage kasama nila ang Kuya Caius nito.

"Do you want to drink?" she asked Maverick, ito lang kasi ang hindi umiinom sa kanilang magkakaibigan.

"Pwede ba?" tanong naman nito.

"Of course... just please watch it. You still have to drive," bilin n'ya.

"Yes, ma'am. Don't worry," sagot naman nito, ngiting-ngiti pa.

So, she let him. S'ya naman ay umikot muna sa mga bisita nya; some of them were still on their tables, drink and eating but others were already on the pool, taking their dip. Sinilip na rin n'ya ang mga pagkain.

Pabalik na sana s'ya sa kanilang lamesa ng makasalubong n'ya si Caius. Siguro ay galing ito sa restroom.

"Jordyn," tawag nito sa kan'ya.

She smiled and approached him. "Yeah? You need something?" she asked.

He shook his head. "No. I'm fine," sagot nito. "I just want to give you this..." he added, handing him a small box straight from his pocket. "Happy Birthday."

She took it and smiled. "Thank you," sagot n'ya.

Caius scratched the back of his neck. "I hope you will like it," sabi pa nito.

"Of course, I will," she answered with a wider smile. "Balik na tayo," aya n'ya pa.

Caius smiled and nodded. "Let's go," sang-ayon naman nito, gesturing her to walk first.

She did. But on her luck, she slipped as she steps at the wet floor. Muntik na s'yang lumagapak sa sahig, buti na lamang ay nasa likod n'ya si Caius para saluhin s'ya. He held her on her waist

"Careful," bulong nito sa kan'ya. His face was near on hers and she knew that one wrong move, her lips will touch on his.

Agad s'yang tumayo ng ayos at lumayo rito. Afraid that someone might see them in that position.

"Sorry," she said, feeling awkward.

Caius smirked. "It's nothing... let's go?"

She nodded. She walked first and she was really careful with her steps this time. Pag dating sa kanilang table ay agad s'yang tumabi sa medyo lasing nang si Maverick.

"You're drunk already," she whispered on him. Pulang-pula na ang buong mukha nito hanggang leeg, indicating that he's already drunk.

Umiling naman ito at humilig sa kan'ya. "I'm not yet. Okay pa ako, baby... don't worry," he said.

S'ya naman ang umaling. "Stop na please?" pakiusap n'ya.

Maverick put down his glass and kissed her shoulder. "Okay po. Stop na po," sagot nito.

Agad naman itong kinantyawan ng mga kaibigan dahil isang salita n'ya lang daw ay susunod agad ito. Napanguso na lamang s'ya sa pang-aasar ng mga ito.

"Don't mind them, baby... I love you," bulong sa kan'ya nito.

Tumango naman s'ya. "Don't worry. It is fine," she answered.

Nagulat naman s'ya ng biglang mag lapitan ang mga kaibigan nito sa kanila at paghiwalayin sila. They took Maverick and brought to the pool side. Grant and Aydan was holding him on his feet and arms, swaying him.

"Oh, gosh! Put him down!" awat n'ya sa mga kaibigan nito. But instead of listening, they hold her too. It was Connor and Easton who's swaying her to the pool.

"1...2...3..." they started counting and everyone chanted as well. Gustong-gusto silang ihulog sa pool.

"Fuck! Ako na lang, huwag na ang baby ko!" Maverick shouted but his friends didn't listen. Van also tried to stop them but one glance from Easton and she stopped.

"Go..." Gavin shouted and the guys pushed them on the pool. Maverick immediately swam to get her. He held her on her waist.

"Happy Birthday, Jordyn!" everyone shouted as they resurfaced from the water. Sumabog rin ang ibat-ibang klase ng party popper at lahat iyon ay bumagsak sa kanilang dalawa ni Maverick.
