"Waiting for another year?" her dad repeated Maverick's words.

The latter nodded. "I have loved your daughter for three years already," Maverick answered.

Halos malagutan naman siya ng hininga sa mga pinagsasabi nito. How could he say that in front of her dad? This guy has a lot of guts!

"For three years? My daughter was only thirteen by that time," her dad said.

"I know it sounds ridiculous but I'm telling the truth po. I have been admiring your daughter since she was thirteen," Maverick answered honestly.

"You're such a brave, young man. How could you speak like that in front of me?"

"I don't mean to offend you, Sir, but I don't want to lie either just to look good in front of you. I want to be honest so you could trust me that Jordyn will be safe with me," sabi nito sa kanyang ama.

And she can't help but feel amazed and flattered with Maverick's braveness and honesty. She knew that her dad would like him, he likes guys like that.

Her dad nodded at Maverick and said, "Can you guarantee me that my daughter won't get compromised with you? Bata pa ang anak ko, ayaw kong masira ang kinabukasan n'ya ng dahil lamang sa maling desisyon."

"I understand, Sir. But I can assure you that I won't do any harm to your daughter. I love her and I have prayed for this chance for a long time. I won't do anything for all these to go to waste," he confidently answered.

Parang gusto naman n'ya itong talunin at paulanan ng halik sa sobrang tuwa. Salamat na lamang ito at nandun ang kanyang ama at hindi n'ya iyon pwedeng gawin.

"I'm counting on you then," her dad said. Nanlaki naman ang mga mata n'ya sa sinabi nito.

"Thank you, Sir. I won't disappoint you," sagot naman ni Maverick.

"You better make sure," her dad said.

"Are you cool with us, Dad?" she finally able to butt in.

"Oh, bakit? Ayaw mo ba?" her dad asked.

Agad naman siyang umiling. "Of course not, Dad. I'm just shock," sagot n'ya.

"Basta huwag n'yo lang kalilimutan ang limitasyon n'yong dalawa. Bata ka pa, Jordyn. Mag aral ka muna," her dad answered.

She nodded and smiled. "Opo, dad. I promise," she swore.

"Aasahan ko sa inyong dalawa iyan," her dad answered. "Kumain na ba kayo?" tanong pa nito.

Agad naman siyang umiling. "Hindi pa, dad. Nagmamadali pa kasi kaming umuwi," she answered.

"Dito ka na mag hapunan kung ganun, hijo. Jordyn, sabihan mo na sila manang na naghanda nang hapunan," utos pa ng tatay n'ya sa kanya.

"Yes, dad," sunod naman n'ya agad. Pagbalik n'ya ay niyaya n'ya na ang mga ito sa hapag para kumain.

She sat at the left side of the table, while her dad was in the center. Maverick was beside her. They were in the middle of eating and chitchatting when her brother came. At unang tanong nito pagdating ay...

"Whose car is that in fro—," he stopped with sentences when he saw Maverick. "Who's that?" tanong pa nito sabay turo kay Maverick.

"He's Maverick. Jordyn's suitor," her dad answered.

Her brother arched a brow. "Oh? May naloloko pa pala 'yang itsura mong iyan, Din?" her brother said, calling her on her childhood nickname.

"Dad, oh. Mang-asar naman si Kuya, hindi na mahiya sa bisita ko," sumbong naman n'ya agad sa kanilang daddy.

"Stop it, Jordan. Huwag mong ipahiya ang kapatid mo sa kan'yang bisita," he dad said.

Nagkibit-balikat naman ang kapatid n'ya. "What's your full name?" tanong nito kay Maverick habang nagsasandok ng pagkain/

"Maverick Jaxon De Chavez," Maverick answered.

"How are you related to Krisanta De Chavez?" her brother asked again.

"She's my sister," Maverick answered again.

"You have a sister?" gulat na tanong na naman. Maverick nodded.

"I have three older sisters," he answered her.

"Hindi mo alam? Manliligaw mo tapos hindi mo alam ang background?" tanong ng kuya n'ya.

"Manliligaw pa nga lang, e. Hindi pa boyfriend. Marami pa kaming time para makilala ang isa't-isa," sagot n'ya. Her brother shrugged and proceeded on interrogating Maverick.

"I'm sorry about, Kuya. This is the first time I brought a guy here, kaya tuwang-tuwa s'yang ipahiya ako," hinging pasensya n'ya.

Maverick smiled and held her hand. The dinner had ended and they were already standing in front of his car.

"No worries. I had fun actually," sagot naman nito.

Napaismid naman n'ya sa sagot nito. "You had fun while my brother is shaming me? Grabe ka naman," ani n'ya.

Maverick laughed and pulled her for a hug. "I'm not saying that. What I meant is, I enjoyed knowing you more and I'm happy that I got your family's blessing," sagot nito. "Also, I'm the first guy you introduced to them? I felt overwhelmed. Hindi ata ako makakatulog ngayong gabi," bulong pa nito sa kanyang ulo.

"Malamang! Wala naman akong ibang ipapakilala, ano," ani n'ya.

She can feel how his chest moves upwards and downwards as Maverick takes a deep sigh.

"Mahal kita," he whispered on her head after putting a soft kiss on it.

She smiled on his chest and hugged him. "I'm glad I met you," she answered instead.

"I'm glad you did that prank on me," he teased. Kinurot naman n'ya agad ito sa dibdib.

"Ang epal mo naman pala," she said.

Maverick's chest vibrated from laughter. "I'm just teasing you, baby."

She looked up at him. "You always do," she said, pouting.

Maverick looked around before kissing her on the lips. "Because you look cute when you're pissed," he said.

Umirap naman ulit siya. "Ewan ko talaga sa'yo," she freed from his arms and stepped backwards. "Sige na. Uwi ka na, baka gabihin ka pa masyado sa daan."

Maverick nodded. "You go in first," utos nito. Tumango naman siya rito.

"Good night," ani n'ya at hinalikan pa ito sa pisngi.

"Good night, baby," Maverick said with a wide smile.

She went inside with a wide smile. Feeling so happy that her day went perfectly. Si Maverick, she was really glad that she gave him a chance, kung hindi ay siguradong nag hahabol at nangangarap parin siya sa taong imposibleng magkaroon siya ng tyansa.
