"Are you close with Eureka?" she asked Maverick. They were already in his car, driving to the nearest fast food place they will see first to eat their dinner.

Maverick shook his head. "She's only close to Easton. Hindi ko trip ang ugali ng babaeng 'yun," sagot nito. Eyes were fixated on the road.

She shifted on her seat to face him. "Oo, no? She's kind of weird to me. E, sa'yo?" she asked.

Maverick shrugged. "I told you, we're not close. How can I figure out her character when I don't give a damn about her in the first place," he answered. Nagulat naman s'ya sa paraan ng pagsagot nito.

Honestly, kanina n'y a pa napapansin ang biglaang pagbabago ng ugali nito. He suddenly went silent and irritated. Wala naman siyang maalalang nagawa niyang mali.

"Do we have a problem?" she asked straightforwardly. Not wanting to play a guessing game for why he suddenly acted like that in front of her.

"Do we?" tanong rin nito.

Her brows furrowed. "I don't know, that's why I'm asking," she said.

"I don't have a problem," sagot nito.

"Then, why are you like that? You suddenly acted irately," she asked.

"I'm not," tanggi pa nito,

"Yes, you are," pilit na naman.

"I said I'm not. Bakit ba ang kulit mo, Jordyn?" He blurted, calling her on her name. And by that, she knew there's a problem that he doesn't want to tell her.

She sighed and calmed down. She reaches for his arms grasping hardly on the steering wheel and caresses it.

"Baby... You know you can always tell me what's bothering you right?" she said sweetly.

But Maverick still acted indifferently. He removed her hand from his and kept a straight and angry face.

Nabigla naman s'ya sa ginawa nito. This was the first time that he chose his ego over her.

What the hell? She mentally exclaimed.

"Are you really not going to tell me what's bothering you, huh?" She asked again, hoping he'll give up after hearing her irritated voice.

But he still didn't and instead, he let out words that hurt her feelings. "It's none of your business," he said.

Her heart aches hearing that from him. That was the first time he's talked to her that way. She suddenly felt unimportant and unloved.

She sat properly and took three deep sighs, waiting for him to take back what he said but he didn't. He ignored her and continued driving.

"Itabi mo," utos niya. Pero hindi man lang ito natinag. "Itabi mo sabi Maverick! Pull your fucking car over!" she shouted. Her chest was going up and down dramatically from the sudden rush of emotions.

"If you think I'll chase you once you step out of this car, I'm sorry but I won't, Jordyn," he told her.

Natawa naman s'ya sa sinabi nito. "You know what, I don't fucking know why are you suddenly acting like this but damn you! Bahala ka!" sigaw niya bago tuluyang umalis ng sasakyan i'ya.

Maverick didn't chase her, didn't even call her name when she went out of his car. Hinayaan lang siya nito. Iniwang mag-isa sa kalsada habang umiiyak.

"Damn you, Maverick Jaxon! Hindi ko mapapatawad ang ginawa mong ito," she swore to herself.

Maverick left her in the middle of an unfamiliar road. Ni hindi niya alam kung paano mag commute, making her have no choice but to call Van to pick her up. Unfortunately, Van wasn't available at that time. So she was forced to call her brother to fetch her.

"Bakit nandyan ka? Gabi na ah?" magkasunod na tanong ng Kuya Jordan n'ya ng tawagan n'ya ito.

"Just pick me up here please, Kuya. Natatakot na ako rito," she pleaded. Her brother might hear her crying that it sped up to get her. At nang makuha siya nito ay hindi na ito nag tanong. Pinasakay na lang s'ya at inuwi na.

That night, she fell asleep crying. Heart was so heavy from the way Maverick acted on her.

"You look shit," Van commented upon seeing her the next morning.

"I know, thank you," she answered.

"Ano ba kasing nangyari?" tanong pa nito.

She shrugged. "Hindi ko alam," she answered, tears started to fall from her eyes again. "He suddenly acted differently and when I asked him, he got mad. Ni hindi man lang ako hinabol nung bumaba ako ng sasakyan n'ya. He left me there, sa lugar na hindi ko man lang alam," she added. "He didn't even think if I'm safe in that fucking place."

"Bakit naman n'ya gagawin yun? Baka naman may nagawa kang hindi mo lang napansin?"

She shook her head. "Wala. Sinruprise ko pa nga s'ya kahapon e. Na-harass pa ako sa pagpunta ko sa building nila para run. Hindi ko na nga lang sinabi dahil ayaw kong mapa-away pa s'ya tapos aawayin n'ya lang pala ako," sumbong n'ya pa sa kaibigan.

Her tears kept on pouring and Van wipe those non-stop. "Hush, Jordyn. Magiging okay din kayo," ani nito.

She nodded. "Sana talaga, kasi hindi ko siya maintindihan. Sabi niya, huwag na kaming mag-away kasi hindi n'ya gusto 'yun, tapos ngayon siya pa nang-aaway sa akin," sabi niya.

"He probably has a reason he doesn't want to discuss with you yet. Give him time for now," payo pa nito.

She shook her head. "Shouldn't we discuss it? Kung may problema s'ya? Hindi ba dapat ay pag-usapan naming dalawa para hindi kami nag kakaganito," sabi naman niya.

"Intindihin mo na lang muna. You know him well, hindi ka nun matitiis," sabi pa nito.

Exhausted from crying, she gave up. Sinunod n'ya ang payo ng kaibigan. She let him, she gave him time and space. But as the days passes that they weren't okay, the hole in her heart grew wider. Mas lalo lang s'yang nasasaktan dahil natitiis na siya nito. Halos hindi na tuloy siya makasunod sa mga aralin sa eskwela dahil hindi siya maka-focus.

"What's happening to you, Jordyn Addison?! Your teacher called me just to tell me that you're suddenly slacking off! You couldn't catch up with your lessons and your grades are going down! Ngayon ka pa mag kakaganyan? Your moving-up is nearing!" her Kuya Jordan scolded her.

Wala naman siyang magawa kundi ang yumuko nalang at umiyak. "I'm sorry, Kuya," all she could say.

"Don't give me your sorry when you won't work on it. Hindi ko alam kung anong nangyayari sa inyo ni Maverick pero huwag mong pabayaang bumagsak ka. Think about Dad, Jordyn. You know exactly his situation, don't add up to his stress," Jordan added before leaving her alone in their living room.

She understand her brother's anger. Totoong bumabagsak siya at hindi siya makapag-aral ng ayos. Hindi na nga gumagaling ang kanilang daddy, nalulugi ang kanilang negosyo tapos ay dumadagdag pa siya.

Mas lalo tuloy siyang nasasaktan.
