Kahit pagod at masakit ang katawan, Van and her still proceeded on their plans. Sinubukan nga nito sa kan'ya ang natutunan nitong make-up style sa YouTube and it turned out really well-no! It actually surpassed her expectation.
"Grabe, Van. I didn't know you're good at this. Ang galing-galing mo!" she complimented her friend.
"Maganda ka kasi kaya maganda rin ang kinalabasan. Sobrang nag complement sa balat mo ang mga kulay na ginamit ko," sagot nito.
Umiling naman siya. "No. You really done an amazing job. Sayo na ako lagi mag papaayos," sabi n'ya. "Look at my eyes, grabe. Ang ganda-ganda ng pagkaka-make-up mo," she added.
"Well, if you think I'm good at this, then, I proclaim myself as your official make-up artist," Van told her.
She smiled at her friend and hugged it. "Parang ayaw ko na tuloy mag gym. Nakakapanghinayang burahin," ani n'ya habang panay ang titig sa sarili niyang reflection sa salamin.
"Picture-an kita. I-p-post ko sa IG and I'll caption it 'my master piece'," Van said and grabbed its phone from the vanity table.
"Oh, sige. Sa phone ko rin, i-p-post ko rin sa lahat ng social network accounts ko tapos i-t-tag kita. Malay mo, ang pag memake-up pala ang future mo," sabi naman n'ya.
They took pictures, a lot actually. At tulad ng sabi nila ay i-pi-nost nga nila iyon sa kanilang social network accounts. Ilang segundo simula ng ma-i-post ang picture n'ya may mga nag comment agad. Some were from their friends and classmates from their former school. Hindi n'ya naman iyon pansin at hinayaan lang.
But Maverick had to comment something that urged her to reply.
"Ganda ka, girl?" Maverick commented.
She instantly replied. "What are you doing at my page? We're not even friends."
"Awts. Strangerzoned," Grant commented as well, Maverick and Caius' friend.
"Why are these guys commenting on my photo?" she asked herself.
Van answered, "They're my Facebook friends. I was tagged so they saw it."
"Ugh! Hindi ko nga ina-accept ang friend request ng Maverick na ito dahil alam kong puro kalokohan lamang ang gagawin nito sa page ko," she said.
"Kuya Caius surely saw that as well... oh, he likes the one I posted," Van said.
"What? Patingin," sabi n'ya sabay abot sa cellphone ng kaibigan.
Indeed, Caius liked their photo. Van posted a photo of them two. Iyong naka-wacky pa sila.
"Van! Bakit naman ito pa ang i-pi-nost mo?" she asked her friend, pouting. "And why are you two friends now and we're not?" she added.
Van shrugged. "Inaccept n'ya na ang request ko, e," sagot nito. "And we're cool now. Tanggap n'ya na 'yung set-up ng family namin." Dagdag pa nito.
Mas lalo naman siyang napanguso. "Ang daya. Samantalang 'yung request ko, three years nang pending sa list nya," ani n'ya.
"Maverick has something to do about that, for sure," Van said.
Sinabi n'ya rito ang lahat tungkol sa naging usap nila ni Maverick noon. Noong una ay kilig na kilig pa ito dahil tama raw ang hula n'ya sa binata. Nainis lang tuloy s'ya rito noon.
"I won't even doubt that! Iyong lalaking 'yun, napaka-bwesit talaga sa buhay ko. Nakakagigil!"
"Eh, bakit kasi hindi na lang talaga siya? He likes you very much, I can see that. Malay mo ay mas maging masaya ka pala sa kan'ya kaysa kay Kuya Caius," Van said, handing her the make-up remover.
"Maraming na mamatay sa malay na iyan, Van. At saka, never ever na magugustuhan ko iyang Maverick na iyan. Diyos ko lang, huh?" ani n'ya.
Van shrugged. "Ikaw bahala, but you know what? I have never seen him gentle to any girls like how much he was so gentle to you," sabi nito.
Halos matawa naman siya. "Gentle? Sure ka? Eh, halos tapakan nga nun ang buong pagkatao masabi lang sa akin na hindi ang tipo ko ang magugustuhan ni Caius! Kung narinig mo lang talaga kung paano n'ya isampal sa akin ang mga salitang iyon," sagot n'ya.
Van shrugged again but didn't say anything. Nag ayos na lang silang dalawa at nag handa para sa gym.
At the gym, like yesterday, Alex guide them with the routine. She was really preserve to have the outcome she's aiming, kaya kahit hirap ay wala siyang reklamo.
Huh! Sisiguraduhin kong lulunukin mo lahat ng mga sinabi mo, Maverick! She mentally said to herself.
"Pagod na pagod ako. I'll definitely sleep tonight and tomorrow," Van said. They were already on Van's vehicle.
"Me too! Ang sakit-sakit ng likod ko. Kung hindi ko lang talaga gustong maging fit, hindi ko ito gagawin," sagot n'ya.
They were both sloughing on their seats. Exhausted from the workout routine they did.
"I'm craving for sashimi. Do you wanna eat dinner first?" Van asked her.
"Kaya pa ba nating maglakad?" she asked instead.
"But I'm already hungry," Van said, pouting.
She sighed. Pagod na siya pero ayaw naman niyang tablahin ang kaibigan.
"Fine. But please, make sure it's not a restaurant inside a mall. Hindi ko na kayang naglakad pa ng malayo," she said.
Van beamed. Mabilis itong nag utos sa driver nito na dalhin sila sa isang Japanese restaurant. Lucky, it was a restaurant that isn't inside a mall. Pag dating sa parking ay dahan-dahan silang bumaba, ingat na isang maling galaw ay mapapa-mura sila sa sakit.
"I'll have some ramen," she ordered.
"I'll have sashimi and ramen. Oh, sushi as well," Van ordered.
Hindi naman siya makapaniwala sa kaibigan. Kalalabas lang nila ng gym at sandamakmak na agad ang kakainin nito. Napapailing na lang siya, pero hindi na ito sinita.
"We'll skipping our schedule on Friday, acquaintance party ang araw na iyon," Van said.
She nodded. "Yeah. But I don't, I'll be excited about it," she answered.
"I know, because Caius won't be there. Puro na lang talaga Caius ang laman ng utak mo," sagot naman ni Van.
Hindi naman siya nag react tungkol doon dahil totoo naman. "It's sad that we're in the same school but he seems too far for mw to reach," she said instead.
"Hindi ka parin ba sanay? Ganun din naman noong nasa Montessori tayo ah?" Van said.
"At least doon, araw-araw ko siyang nakikita. Naririnig ko pa ang boses n'ya, pero dito... ewan," she said, disappointed by that fact.
"Alam mo, Jorge. Hindi sa dini-discourge kita, ha? But I don't think Kuya Caius will notice you as long as Maverick wants you. I know how much he values friendship and that he will never cross a line that will ruin that, lalo na ang kanila ni Maverick. They're best friends, remember?" Van said.
Of course, Van knew Caius really well. They are step-siblings after all.
