They arrived at Maverick's house after half an hour. Sa labas pa lamang ay halata na ang kakayahan ng pamilyang pinanggalingan ni Maverick.

Their house were almost like those in the dramas. Iyong may malawak na garahe, marble walls, and a big wooden front door. Gusto sana n'ya sanang magtanong kung bahay ba nila talaga iyon o hotel, pero ayaw naman niyang mag mukhang ignorante sa harap nito.

"My friends are already in the garden. Do you want us to head straight there or do you want to meet my family first?" Maverick asked her.

Though she's nervous, she chose the latter. "Let's meet your family first," she said.

"All right," he answered.

"I'll head straight to the garden. Where's the way?" Van asked.

"That way," Maverick answered, pointing to the east wing of the house.

When van walked her way to the garden and they were left alone, Maverick immediately held her hands.

"What's that for?" Maverick asked her, pointing to the paper bag she's been carrying.

"My gift," she answered.

Maverick arched his brow. "You already bought me one, right?" he asked.

"That's not enough. So, I made another one," she answered.

"You made it?" he asked again.

She smiled and nodded. "Yes, I made this. Sana lang ay magustuhan mo," she answered.

Maverick bit his lip and pulled her closer, holding her face before leaning on for a kiss. "I'll love it. Everything that will come to you, I will love it," he whispered to her lips. "Can I see this now?"

She immediately shook her head. "Mamaya na after ng celebration," sagot n'ya agad.

"But I wanted to see it now," he said. "Excited na ako," dagdag pa nito.

She raised her hand to reach for his cheek and pinched it. "Later na nga. Let's save it for last," ani n'ya.

Maverick sighed. "Sige na. I know this one's the best," sabi pa n'ya.

Maverick guided their way to the kitchen where his mom and sisters were busy preparing for the food.

"Hello, everybody!" Maverick greeted them when they entered the kitchen.

Everyone looked at them, lalo na sa kanya at sa kamay nilang magkahawak. Napahigpit tuloy ang hawak n'ya sa kamay ni Maverick dahil sa kaba.

"Guys, I'd like you all to meet my Jordyn," Maverick introduced her. Napatigil naman ang lahat sa kanilang ginagawa.

"Your girlfriend?" his mom, she thinks.

Maverick smiled. "Not yet, but surely soon," he said.

"Hindi pa naman pala! Maka-my ka naman d'yan akala mo pag ma-may-ari mo na," one of his sisters said.

Maverick scoffed. "Soon nga, e," ani nito tapos ay bumaling sa tingin n'ya ay nanay nito.

"This is my mom," he pointed to a mid-40's lady. "And these are my sisters, Ate Krisanta, Ate Maureen and her twin, Ate Laureen," he added, introducing his sisters.

She smiled and bowed a bit, like those she sees on Korean dramas. "Good evening po," she greeted.

Maverick's Ate Krisanta snatched her from him. Hilaa-hila siya nito at dinala sa dalawa pa nitong Ate.

"You look young for Mave. How old are you, Jordyn?" his Ate Maureen asked.

"I'm sixteen po," she answered shyly.

"Oh, god! She's still a baby, Mave!" his Ate Laureen exclaimed.

"Yes, she's my baby," Maverick proudly answered.

Sinapak naman agad ito ng mommy n'ya sa braso. "Don't get me wrong, hija, but do your parents know about you and my son?" his mom asked her.

She nodded. "We've already talked to my dad and my brother. They approved of us in the condition of always putting our studies first," she answered.

"You don't have to worry, mom," Maverick said, calming his mom.

"Mabuti naman. Ayaw kong sunduin ka na lang isang araw sa kulungan dahil nang abuso ka ng mas bata sa'yo," his mom said.

Nahiya naman s'ya sa sinabi ng mommy nito, but Maverick hearty laugh instantly erased that.

"I will never violate her, mom. I treasure her too much to force her on something she doesn't approve of," he said.

"Well, then. I won't disapprove anymore. I can't see how happy you two are, sisirain ko pa ba iyon? Basta pag-aaral ang unahin, okay?" his mom said.

Maverick's sisters giggled.

"I'm glad that she found someone that changed him," his Ate Laureen whispered to her.

Hindi naman siya nag komento at ngumiti na lang. They were interviewed a bit more before they were release to go see his friends. Malayo palang ay rinig na nila ang ingay ng mga bisita sa labas.

"You're having a barbeque party?" she asked. Hindi kasi nito sinabi kung anong klaseng party ang gaganapin, basta raw kunting salo-salo raw kasama ang pamilya n'ya at mga kaibigan.

"Barbeque and pool party," he answered.

"Oh? You should have told me. Sana ay nag dala kami ni Van ng panligo," sabi n'ya.

"I can ask  Ate Mau or Lau to lemd you a shirt and shorts," he said.

"Shirt and shorts? Not a swimsuit?" she teased.

Maverick turned to him, arching his brow. "Asa ka," sagot nito, imitating her sound every time she said that.  "No swimsuit for you. Unless it's just the two of us swimming there."

"But that's a pool party, Mave. Ma-a-out of place kami ni Van," she said more. "At bakit kailangan tayong dalawa lang ang nandun?"

"Edi, dun na lang tayo sa barbeque party," sabi nito. Napanguso naman siya. "Look, baby. My friends are here and most of them are boys. Ayaw kong panoorin ka nila habang ganun lang ang suot mo...Caius is there too," sabi nito, saying his last sentence in a very low voice but she was still able to hear it.

"Ano naman kung nandyan siya? Hindi naman siya ang ipinunta ko rito, ikaw," she said. Dismissing the thought that he's not allowing her to wear bikini.

Maverick arched his brow again. "You like him," he said. She could hear the bitterness in his tone.

"Liked, Maverick. I won't be here if it's still him," she said, shrugging. Inunahan na n'ya ito sa paglalakad at mag-isang tinungo ang garden kung nasaan ang mga bisita. Agad niyang hinanap si Van na nakaupo sa lamesa ng mga kaibigan ni Maverick.

She went there and sat beside Van. Agad naman siyang binati ng mga ito at inabutan ng basong alam niyang may lamang alak. Natatawa naman n'ya itong tinanggap.

Her eyes went straight at Caius who's staring at her. Tinaasan naman n'ya ito ng kilay.

Oh? Tinitingin-tingin mo? She mentally asked.
