"Blaz? Blaz, wake up. You're having a nightmare." Napabalikwas ako ng bangon when I dreamed the days when I lost my wife, my family, the days when I'm alone, suffering from guilt and pain. "Shh, I'm here. Calm down, my love." I hugged my wife tightly, afraid that she'll disappear. She gently caressed my hair while I lean my head on her shoulder.
My heart is aching and beating fast because of that painful memory. It's my greatest nightmare. Losing my family and being left alone is that thing I fear the most. I never wanted to experience that ever again. Fifteen years are enough.
"Don't leave me again, Nate. I don't think I could handle it if I lost you again. Just... take me with you wherever you go." My voice quivered. I cannot even stop my hands from slightly trembling because of the idea that I'll experience hell again without her by my side.
I was dead inside. I would often dream of having a family with her, and then I'll realized that they're only an illusion I made up in my head because of longing. And when I wake up, I would cry and beg for her to come back even if I thought it's impossible. I cannot count how many times the Phyranian volcano erupted due to my bursting emotions.
"I promised that I'll come back, didn't I?" Her soft voice calmed my system. "And I did, Blaz. We did. So don't be anxious anymore. This happened a few times already. Do you always experience this before?" I slowly nodded.
She caressed my face with both her hands and stared at me. Her expression was pained. "My poor husband." Her lips were slightly pouted. "It must be hard for you. Wag kang mag-alala. Nandito na ako. I got you. Do you want me to go into your dreams? Aawayin ko mga nang-aaway sa'y—"
She stopped talking when I suddenly kissed her tempting lips. "I love you."
Her lips even became poutier after I kissed her. Her brows are creased already. "What?" I slightly laughed at her cute reaction.
"I'm trying to comfort you here, duh. And here you are stealing kisses. I can sue you for that."
"Your kisses are enough to comfort me, baby. And sue me, I gladly plead guilty," I grinned. The fear inside me earlier disappeared in an instant because of her presence. She's really my peace. My light from the darkness I'm in for almost a decade and a half.
"Talaga ba, Alexander Blaz? Sige, Madali akong kausap. I'll comfort you," she smirked, and I was startled when she cupped my face again and showered me with my light kisses all over my face. "Ano okay na ba? Grabeng comfort na to."
"No. I need more. Cover up the fifteen years you are not with me." I pulled her waist closer to me and kissed her passionately. She gladly obliged that made me smile slightly while our lips are locked together.
"Ang landi mo talagang lalaki ka. Pasalamat ka mahal kita." She pinched my nose and I smiled.
"Thank you. Thank you because you love me," I said sincerely.
"Ikaw ha. That's my line, fire prince. Wala kang originality," she shook her head.
"Huh? As far as I remember, you never told me that." I creased my brows.
"I did tell you!" she insisted. I think hard because of what she said. I will never forget a moment it that moment is with her so I'm really trying hard to remember.
"Yes. You did."
"Diba sabi ko sa'yo eh."
"In my dreams, Nate. In my dreams," I looked at her intently. Napaiwas naman siya ng tingin sa akin. "Back then, I would always dream about you and our children. We were happy. We're together. And every time I would wake up, I would be devastated knowing that they never happened, and my mind just made that up. It's painful knowing that it's all an illusion," I chuckled painfully. "I even thought of not waking up just to be with you. I'm insane, you know."
