Chapter 38

Caroline's POV
"Who are you?" She asked me and I gulp.

"I'm Caroline." I say to her.

"You say you know Klaus but why are you here?" She questions me.

"I came here to tell you to stop whatever you're doing. I know you and Klaus are not together anymore but what you're doing to him is wrong. You can't take everything away from him." I say to her.

"And let me guess, you're Nik's play thing?" She asked me.

"I'm actually his girlfriend." I state to Aurora as I stand my ground.

"I see and how did you win that title? By sleeping with him and him telling you how much he appreciates you. Trust me Nik is incapable of being in a relationship." She says. She's kind of intimidating to speak to. Mostly because she knows a lot more about Klaus than I do.

"Klaus asked me to be his girlfriend and we are actually public. Our relationship is all known around New Orleans." I admit to her.

"Really? Well that is very surprising. What do you have that I don't?" She asked me.

"His trust and we trust each other."I say to her.

"Trust? I was the first women he ever loved. I've known Nik and his family for years. We were going to spend the rest of our lives together. We were even going to start a family. So whatever you think you and Nik have is nothing. I loved him but it turns out that he never loved me enough. You two will never last long. Just like me and him never did." She says and I can tell she feels a bit heart broken just explaining this. "Now tell me why you are really here because all you're doing is waisting my time." She says to me.

"I came here to tell you to stop whatever you're doing to Klaus. I'm sure you guys can walk out of this divorce in peace. Don't make it ugly." I say to her.

"What Nik and I have is our business. You're not even a Mikaelson, so you have no business talking to me about my marriage. I suggest you get out of my house right now before I throw you out." She says and I gulp again.

"Fine. I'll leave." I finally say to her and I turn on my heels and walk away. I felt like coming here was pointless. I honestly didn't do anything but made her even more angry. I felt like the little humanity she had for Klaus was gone because of me.

"Caroline!" I hear a familiar British voice shouting. The voice sounds awfully familiar like Klaus. "Caroline!" I hear the voice again. I rush down the stairs and as I make it half way down I see Klaus standing with Kol. "What in the bloody hell are you doing here?" He asked me as I rush up to him in his arms. It always felt good to be in his arms.

"What is it with all this noise?" Aurora says and I turn around and look at her from the top of the stairs. "Nik, what are you doing here?" She asked him.

"I came to come get my girlfriend back." Klaus says to her.

"Good because she is annoying." She says and I roll my eyes. I am not annoying.

"We were just leaving." Klaus says as he takes my hand.

"And don't ever come back here again." She says and me, Klaus, and Kol walk out of her house.

"What were you thinking coming here?" Klaus questions me in a angry tone.

"I came to convince her to not tell the judge about your pass." I admit to him.

"That was a stupid idea. You really think Aurora was going to listen?" He asked me. I hate when he is talking to me like this.

"Klaus I was trying to help you." I say firing back.

"Stop trying to help me and stop trying to fix everything! I don't need your help!" Klaus shouts at me.

"See, this is your problem. You try to do everything on your own and when people try to help you, you run away! That's not how you connect with people Klaus!" I shout back at him.

"I don't need your help. I have everything under control." He says to me.

"Are you that delusional Klaus? You know what you are not even worth the calories I burn talking to you." I say to Klaus as I walk pass him and into the limo.
