Chapter 60

Caroline's POV
3Years later....
Life has changed so much for me and let's just say I might be the most luckiest girl in the world. Three years ago, I was in intern to the most biggest company of all of New Orleans and became an assistant to the one and only Klaus Mikaelson.

It was scary but it was a honor to work for him and I never thought during my internship I would be become his girlfriend. Well it was fake.....but every time we spent together felt real and I was falling in love with him.

And he was too.

Klaus showed me what the world was like and what he offers and he intended to make it the best experience. Of course we fought and we had disagreements and we broke up but I knew in my heart that I couldn't resist him.

So today, I am a college graduate in business major as I completed my schooling just how I wanted. Right now, I am packing my things from my mom's house because I will officially be moving to New Orleans to start my new job position that I had landed.

My phone rings and I saw it was Elena calling me.

"Hey!" I answered.

"Hey, how you been? It's been so long since we talked. I miss you so much." Elena says to me over the phone and I smile.

"I miss you too. I'm actually packing my things right and to move over to New Orleans. You will be seeing me soon." I admitted.

"Really? Oh my god! Even though I miss you a certain Mikaelson has missed you too. He talks about you all the time and Elijah's been trying to distract him." Elena tells me and I smile and roll my eyes.

"I've missed all of you guys and I really can't wait to see him too." I admitted.

"Well I have to go. I don't wanna distract you from your packing. When you get here, let's have a lunch date okay. Love you bye!" Elena ends the phone call and I get back to finishing packing.

I can't wait to go back to New Orleans and start my life there officially. I hugged my mom and told her goodbye and that I will miss her dearly for supporting and taking care of me.

"I love you mom." I say to her with tears brimming down my cheek.

"I love you too Care. Be safe okay." My mom says as she wipes my tears with her thumb. I nodded at her and smiled.

I took all my stuff in my car and prepared to drive off, leaving my home for good in Mystic Falls.

As I landed into the city, I was back in my old apartment that I was back in New Orleans. Klaus kept it and made sure no one took it. He still payed the rent for it for the last three years.

As I opened the door and turned on the lights......

"SURPRISE!" Everyone shouted and confetti and balloons were everywhere. Elena, Kol, Rebekah, Elijah, Stefan, and Klaus were all here.

"You guys! What the hell is all this?" I said stunned at all this.

"To welcome you back. Congratulations on completing College and coming back to New Orleans." Kol said and I was happy.

"But you guys shouldn't have. Seriously this is too much." I said to them.

"Caroline, this was exactly Klaus's idea." Elena admitted and I look over at Klaus.

I smiled at him as I couldn't believe he did all of this for me just to welcome me back.

"You really did this all for me?" I walked up to him, holding his hands.

"I wanted to do something for you that wasn't so grand. I thought......a simply surprised with all of us would be enough." He admitted and I immediately planted my lips onto him.

Consumed by happiness as I was filled with unbelievable joy of this cute gesture by him. Klaus is so sweet and I love him so much.

"You are a big softy. You're not the big bad wolf that everyone claims you to be." I smirked at him.

"Don't be fooled love. I am still pretty bad but I'm good for you. I will always be good for you." Klaus smirks at me but I roll my eyes. "Welcome home Caroline." He said to me.

I smiled and hugged Klaus as I wrapped myself around him.

"It's good to be home."

After settling in back in New Orleans, It felt great to be back. I was working my dream job as a business woman, I had my friends, and I was with Klaus and we are happily together and it's real.

Speaking of Klaus, he took me to the horse ranch again and we spend almost the entire day riding horses. It was sunset and it was so very beautiful to watch it.

"I can ride and be here all day and watch the sunset." I admitted.

"We can if you want." Klaus said but I shake my head at him.

"It's impossible. We have work remember?" I reminded him. "I really do love it here." I admitted.

"Me to. Coming here has been so special now and it's all because of you Caroline." Klaus admitted to me.

I looked at him confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

Klaus smirked as I saw him reach into his pocket as he pulled at a piece of paper. He gave it to me and I opened it. It's an adoption certificate for the White House.

"Klaus you didn't-"

"This is your horse now." He admitted to him.

"Klaus, this is......I can't believe you adopted her." I said as I begin to cry of joy.

"And soon I will be building a horse ranch for us so we can watch the sunset and ride horses all we want. We don't have to come here very weekend. It could officially be our thing." Klaus admitted.

"God, I wish I could kiss you. I can't believe you would do this just for my dream." I said.

"I told you I would do anything for you Caroline."He told me.

"Well.... I would do anything for you too. Thank you for the gift Klaus. I love you." I said to him.

Klaus smiled as he looked down. 

He turned to me.

"I love you too." He said.
