Chapter 2

Caroline's POV
It's my second day at the Mikaelson's business company and I'm pretty well rested. I made sure I went to bed pretty early to get here on time. I decided to go to the lounge to make some coffee before I head to my office.

"You're a new face." A unfamiliar voice says startling me. I turn around to see a young man with brown hair with brown eyes.

"Yeah I just started working here." I admit to him.

"I can tell. I'm Kol Mikaelson." He admits and I'm shocked. He has to be Klaus's brother. Kol offers his hand out and I take it.

"Caroline Forbes." I say to him.

"What a gorgeous name for a gorgeous women like you." Kol compliments and I kind of blush.

"Um thank you." I say nervously.

"So what is your position here?" He asked.

"I have an internship here and I work as Klaus Mikaelson's assistant and I also fill out some paper work as well." I admit to him.

"I see well I should get going. Don't want you to miss out on your work." Kol says. "It's nice to meet you Caroline." He says as he reach for my hand well giving it a kiss. Kol walks away leaving my completely redden.

I make my way to my office room and begin to get started on my work. I see a stack of paper work with a note on it.

These must be complete by this Sunday. No later than that.

Elena.

I skimmed through to see it's a bunch of tax papers but I can handle it. As I dig right through it. I suddenly get a ring from my office phone.

"Hello." I say commonly.

"I need you in my office now." The voice is demanding a little but I know who it is.

"Of course. I'll be right there." I say as I hang up the phone. I sigh heavily before I leave my office.

I'm not that far from Klaus's office considering that I am his new assistant. I honestly don't know why he needs me but I guess I'm going to find out. I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy and maybe a little intimidated but I can't show that. Not here.

I stand right in front of his office and I knock and slowly opened it. I see Klaus  and he gestures his hand for me to come in and I do.

"Please close the door Caroline." He says to me but much more calmer now. I close the door behind me and begin to walk closer to his desk. His office really is cold.

"Is there anything you need me to do sir?" I asked him carefully.

"No please sit Caroline. I just want to talk." He says and I take a seat right in front of him. "I know I didn't make a good impression to you yesterday and I do apologize but I have been extremely busy this week." He explained.

"No it's okay. I understand." I say to him.

"I just don't want you to think that I don't care about you because I do. You are my new assistant after all." He reminds and I nod. "But I do have a favor to ask you. It might sound a bit unprofessional and weird but it is very important." He says and I am quite curious.

"What is it." I asked him.

"I want you to accompany me to the gala tonight. I would really appreciate it if you do." Klaus says and I am stunned.

"I'm not sure." I admit nervously. "It's just I don't think I am the best candidate for it. I'm sure you have many beautiful women to ask." I say to him a bit casually. Klaus raises one of his eyes brows to me.

"Are you denying that you're not beautiful Caroline?" Klaus asked and I shrug nervously. "I assure you are more than capable. I mean when I first saw you, I thought you were a beautiful young women." He tells me but I couldn't help but blush a bit. Hearing Klaus Mikaelson's compliments is a bit surprising. "Look if you agree to accompany me tonight, I will consider paying off all your tuitions for the next four years." He offers and I'm in shock. Would he really do that?

This is a big offer and if I take it, I wouldn't have to worry. I can finish school without any problems with money. All I have to do is be Klaus Mikaelson's date tonight.

"I accept." I say quite happy. I can see the a sign of relief hitting Klaus's face as I say yes.

"Great. I'll see you tonight. I'll pick you up at your place at 8:30. Don't be late." He warns and I nod. "Thank you Caroline." He says and I give him a small smile and I walk out of his office.
