"wish i was there
wish we'd grown up on the same advice
and our time was right."

"Thank you, Sydney!" Haeun mocked his farewell as they sat in his bedroom that was slowly being packed up

"Thank you, Sydney!" Haeun mocked his farewell as they sat in his bedroom that was slowly being packed up. Donghyuck rolled his eyes, stuffing the last of his belongings into his suitcase. "Gosh, three years already?" she followed up, laying back in his cushioned gaming chair.

"Feels like just yesterday I was in the Republic, back in the house where mom would yell at me all the time." he chuckled at the remembrance. Haeun's nose scrunched up as if she could hear her bickering all over again. "Oh yeah, mom. Wonder how she's doing." she shrugged halfheartedly. Donghyuck rolled his eyes again. The two had never been fond of one another.

"You seriously don't want to come back with me?" he asked for the millionth time the past week, and Haeun always gave the same answer. "Like I've said, there's nothing there for me anymore." she pursed her bottom lip outward. Her fingers grazed the colored keyboard that he would be shipping back to Korea as he flew back, making sure to pack it last as he wanted to squeeze in a couple more games before the move. On her ring finger laid a shining diamond.

"You promise you'll be back for the wedding?" she asked.

Donghyuck smiled, nodding surely. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."

Haeun snooped through his open browsers, letting out a small giggle at his search history. "God, I've never seen someone watch their own performances as much as you do." she teased. The younger brother's face contorted into annoyance, leaping over to where she sat. "Hey! It's to... improve." he half lied, knowing he was his biggest fan. I mean, the CD's he had of his own music lined across his shelf said it all.

His sister's smile was the same as his, wrinkling lines running from the corners of her mouth to her nose. She mercilessly scrolled through his history, praying that it wouldn't be anything she could've lived without seeing. But as her eyes fell onto the thumbnail of a familiar girl she had only heard about through broken words, she paused with the mouse hovering over it.

"Seems like you're a Zhong Chenle fanboy as well." she pointed out, seeing as though he went on a marathon of his YouTube videos. Hyuck gulped, finally pushing her away on the rolling chair. "Shut up. I just wanted to see how the Republic was like. I mean, it must've changed after three years." he lousily defended himself. Haeun didn't buy it, raising an unconvinced eyebrow.

"Yeah, that's why you only watched the videos with your ex girlfriend." she smirked.

He let out a loud groan, throwing the plushie on his desk at her. "She's not my ex." he whined, earning a slap on the arm with twice the amount of force he used. "Don't throw your plushies at me, you baby." she hissed. "And I don't know- seems like you two just have a lot of history." she hummed, eyes trailing across his emptied room to avoid eye contact.
