A week later, she found herself in the gym, panting as she finished her last round of laps around the school.
Hands on her knees, beads of sweat staining her headband, she gasped for air, paused in her position with her chest rising up and down.
"Choi." It could only be the voice of one person, her head averting to the sound.
"Yoo." she jokingly responded, earning a tired chuckle from the brunette. "We sound like Seorin and Jisung." she still mustered up a lighthearted comment.
"Let's huddle up, coach needs to lecture us before this weekend's game." she patted her back, taken aback from the moistness. Minseo laughed it off, sitting on the hard wooden floor with the rest of the girls.
"Ladies, this is an important week for practices." Coach Im began.
"Our first game is against Seoul Prep, the high school on the other side of the Republic. We're higher than them in the rankings and I'd like to keep it that way." her tone was stern and enforcing.
"Just because we're above them doesn't mean it's something to shrug off. If we lose, it's gonna be conditioning all of next week."
The team held in their whines, knowing it would just be digging their own graves.
"That being said, get a break since tomorrow is Wednesday. We'll pick up with a practice game on Thursday against each other." With the clap of her hands, practice was dismissed.
Wobbling to the locker room, the tightness of her muscles had given her a strain. She lousily packed up all of her things, throwing the heavy bag over her shoulder.
"First game of the season, aren't you excited?" Hyerin gleamed, way more energetic than the girl beside her.
"Coach just threatened us, I'm not sure how you're so excited." Minseo replied, ready to shower all the pain away.
"Oh don't be silly, Seoul Prep is ass. She just has to put it in a nice way." she laughed, walking over to their cars parked next to each other.
"Is your boyfriend coming? The first game is always kind of a big deal." she leaned against her pearly white vehicle, twirling the keys in her hand.
Pursing her lips together, Minseo gave her an unsure shrug. "We haven't been arguing that much recently, but I'm not sure if he'll make it. Long distance, remember?"
She had grown comfortable turning to Hyerin for her boy issues, seeming as she was really good at handling them. Plus, at this point she knew all of her secrets, especially the ones regarding her true identity.
"Well, we can only hope. I'll see you tomorrow at lunch!"
And like that, they got into their cars to drive away. The past six days had been comforting, a lot more calmed down than last week. The skies were almost completely clear, a sight she hadn't seen since she moved there. The warm sun contrasted with the nipping weather, giving her a good mix of both.
