"you shine like the stars,
you light up my heart.""So you ran away?"
"Of course I ran away, what else was I supposed to do? Ask for his autograph?" Minseo whined, shoving her face into the cream colored throw pillow. Mark and Miyeon eyed her from the opposite couch, the large brown dog sleeping in Mark's lap. Her older sister chuckled, shaking her head at the embarrassment written all over her.
"I don't know, talk to him? Say hi?" she shrugged. Minseo lowered her eyelids with a burdened look. "Oh yeah, I'm supposed to just act like I didn't lead him on three years ago and make him move away." she grumbled. Mark's eyes widened, letting out a low whistle. "At least accountability is being taken." he hummed quietly. Miyeon shoved his shoulder.
"You weren't the reason he moved away, I'm sure there was plenty more behind it." she glared at her boyfriend. "Besides, three years can change a lot. You've matured since then, so do you really think he's gonna hold a grudge against you?" she raised an eyebrow.
"When I visited him in Australia last year, he still made me pay for his dinner after a bet I lost four years ago." Mark commented, making Minseo's face pull downwards.
"Love, you are not helping." Miyeon sighed, placing a finger on top of his lips. She got up from her spot on the couch to take a seat next to the distraught girl on the smaller one in the large apartment. It overlooked the lit up skyline and buildings from the outskirts, a pool of iridescence below them.
It only took the couple two years before they decided to move in together. It was a beautiful apartment with glass walls in a secluded and safe area, just ten minutes away from the Capitol building where Mark had to work, and ten minutes away from the pharmacy where Miyeon worked. The blonde had secured a job under her boyfriend's Uncle and began taking more shifts to allow the old man to ease into retirement— not that he wanted to. You could only work for so long until your tea didn't ease your joints anymore.
Minseo stared out of the window where the city was still alive on summer nights. Luckily, they couldn't hear the traffic, but the beams of headlights lit up the roads like constellations. The moon wasn't full, but just enough to keep her up for a good chunk of the night. The Republic was a beauty.
"Have you moved on?" she asked.
The purple eyed girl paused, still staring out into the massive structures. Of course she had. Minseo had been through her fair share of talking stages, numbers exchanged at Jaehyun's parties, even dates Hyerin would set her up on with the boys from her work unit. Yet, after each date or kiss exchanged, nothing ever followed up. It's not like it bothered her. Perhaps, she was the reason nothing had ever been pursued.
"I have. I mean, when you hear about Lee Haechan all the time, it kind of pushes you into reality that he's untouchable now." she shrugged, laying back into the comfy cushions of the couch Mark had picked out.
