Chapter Fifty-two
-
Luke expected Ashton to be at work, Jack in his room and his mother to be somewhere around the house. He was most certainly not expecting to see Alex again. However, all four of them were sat in living room, looking at him.
He knew the nurse had phoned home and told his mum that he had collapsed and was coming home early.
The blonde boy could not help but feel a pang of jealousy hit him when seeing Jack cuddled into his mother's side. That would be something they usually do.
He gave them all a small smile before muttering, "I'm going up to my room."
"No, you're not," Liz told him strictly wanting to have this talk with him sooner than later.
"The nurse told me to rest," he persisted taking a quick glance at Alex who was inspecting him up and down.
"You can rest after we've talked to you." The blonde groaned and walked sulkily over to his boyfriend, slipping off his vans before cuddling into his side.
Ashton slipped an arm around the frail boy's body. "Everything is going to be fine," he spoke quietly into the boys greasing hair. Luke closed his eyes firmly, waiting for someone to talk. He just wanted to fall asleep and for everyone to forget.
"Why did you faint at school?" his mother asked worriedly yet more suspicious. She wanted to get to the end of her sons lies and instead to get him back to health.
"We were playing dodgeball in sports," he explained. "I kept getting knocked over where everyone pelted them."
"That's three times in a month Luke," Ashton pointed out trying to protect the boy he loves.
"I know, I guess I'm just unlucky," he laughed nervously.
Everyone just looked at him as if he were joking, he was. "You're unlucky that you suffer from anorexia," Alex told him.
Luke looked at him with a frown. He loved Alex and was thankful for everything he did, however, he disliked that a professional was now involved.
"You mum told me you've fallen back into old habits," Alex said. He could tell that Luke had been sick a lot because his voice was hoarse and his face was a little swollen. He did not want to be caught.
"I haven't" Luke lied, keeping his eyes on the carpet as he felt his boyfriend sigh.
"She's also told me, alongside Ashton and Jack, that you have also become an incredibly good liar," the grey haired man continued, flickering his eyes over to Liz to see if she was okay. Her expression was blank.
"I'm not," he lied once again. That's all he did nowadays. Lie, lie lie.
"Are you lying right now?" Alex asked worried by the boy's habit of constantly lying.
Closing his eyes for a second he lied for the third time. "No."
"Stop lying!" Jack yelled him, annoyed that he wouldn't just tell the truth for the sake of everyone.
Luke flinched at the loud words yet noticed how his mother hushed his older brother and continued to fiddle with his hair. Luke bit his lip in jealously before cuddling into Ashton's chest not willing to look at anyone. He felt so distant from everyone. Even Ashton.
