Chapter Fifty-seven
-
"Does Ashton often tell you that you are beautiful Luke?" Sid asks as he collects the boy from the waiting room for his third session. It was only just the beginning.
"A lot," the blonde replied getting up from his seat and following his man to his room. Luke was now sure where this room was and was familiar with its interior.
"In what way do you think he means it?" the man asked interested, watching as the boy emptied his jeans pockets and removed his still worn down vans that he had when in the ward.
"He's trying to make me feel better and like myself," Luke suggested knowing that was probably the main reason. He knew part of his curly haired boyfriend found him attractive inside and out. However, he knew too well that Ashton hated when Luke looked like this. Skin and bones.
"That may be the reason why he exaggerates and over using the word towards you. But, he really thinks you are Luke," the therapist explained waiting for the small boy to stand on one of the most feared objects.
Before Luke stepped on the scale Luke looked back at Sid in hesitation. He wanted to ask the man something, but it seemed a bit weird at the same time. However, the man notices the blonde trying to open his mouth, but not wanting to at the same time. "Just ask Luke," he chuckled waiting for a response.
The blonde turned back around and sighed. He placed both feet on the scale and watched the number increase even higher than the previous week. "Do you think," he paused trying to think how to phrase it. "You know. Um, do you think I'm...um...good looking?" he asked awkwardly.
A lot of people growing up had told him this. Likewise, so do other people currently. However, he didn't know if they just said to make him feel better about himself. But, he thought that Sid was the most honest person he knew and that he would answer truthfully.
The man did not look up at Luke as wrote down the boys current weight on one hundred and ten pounds. Five more than the session a week before. "You want the truth?" he asked glancing up at the boy.
Luke nodded shyly as he stepped off of the scale and returned to put his shoes back on.
"Do you have any pictures from when you recovered?" the man asked, avoiding the question at the moment.
"Why?" Luke asked confused.
"If you want me to judge whether I perceive you as good looking then I want to judge you at a normal weight," Sid explained simply.
The blonde haired boy nodded and sunk back into his normal chair. His thin, long sleeve shirt clinging to his skeletal figure which was gradually increasing. "Are you not going to answer the question?" he asked a little downhearted.
"I can if you would like," he shrugged sitting opposite the young boy who was so vulnerable to everything in this world. Even himself.
"Yes please," he agreed eagerly.
"I think you are Luke. In certain aspects, you don't try too hard to look good. But at the same time, you have blonde hair and blue eyes. What someone would call a perfect person. Likewise, you have good face structure. There's only one aspect letting you down," he admitted.
