Chapter Thirty-one

-

"Where were you?" Luke asked, his voice filled with rage as his roommate finally entered their room at nine in the evening.

"Nowhere," Ashton dismissed a little gloomily.

Luke rolled his eyes in annoyance. He sat up from where he'd been laying shirtless for the last five hours. He skipped dinner. Alex popped his head round the door and asked if he was going to go. It was no surprise that the blonde was not going to due to his lack of eating recently. Therefore Alex came back a little later with a few cookies to keep the boy going throughout the night.

"Yeah right! You can't just randomly leave for twelve hours and say you were nowhere. I was worried where you were because you were a bit off last night. Where were you?" the blonde asked again annoyed as hell.

Sighing to himself and he pulled out his suitcase which had been untouched for months and months.

Luke's eyes widened in fear. "You're l-leaving?" he asked worriedly. The curly haired boy just nodded sadly. "Is that why you were gone all of today?" He nodded again. "When d-do you l-leave?" the blonde asked tearing up slightly. His throat was becoming dry at the thought of not having Ashton with him.

"Tomorrow," the elder admitted. For the first time today he looked his boyfriend in the eye and expressed all of his emotions.

Shaking his head in refusal Luke began to sob. "No. No, you don't have to."

Staring down blankly at the ground Ashton made his way over to the boy. He sat down next to him and engulfed into a huge hug. "Luke, it's the right thing to do. You are far from leaving here. I mean look at you. Your a mess-"

"I'm getting better," Luke protested. "I'll get better for you and get out as quickly as I can."

"No," Ashton disagreed bluntly wiping a tear from the small boys face. "You need to get better for yourself. You need to actually want to eat and you can't worry that you look fat all the time. You need to learn what you really look like before you leave here."

"But I want to be with you," Luke pouted curling Ashton's hair round his finger.

"I want to be with you too," Ashton smiled. "But I'm seventeen and your fifteen. I'm leaving this place tomorrow and you've only been here a couple of months. I think we need to go our own ways," the elder explained.

"So we're over?" Luke asked sadly. He was going to lose his first ever boyfriend. The one person who made him happy.

"For now Luke," the curly haired boy nodded sadly. "But hey, who's to say that when you get out and I am still single and I want to be with you again," he suggested trying to help lift the mood.

"How will I find you?" the blonde asked curiously.

"I've left my number somewhere here in this room. Whenever you need to talk Lukey, just phone me," Ashton smiled knowing the younger boy would need the support. After all the boy often needed Ashton to help him eat.

"Where is it?" Luke asked bolting up right ready to find it.

"You'll have to find it," the elder winked cheekily.

"But what if I don't?" Luke queried worriedly.

"You will. You're a smart little boy," Ashton smiled bopping Luke's small nose.

"I'm not little. I'm fifteen," Luke frowned sitting up straight to seem taller than the elder. The curly haired boy laughed whilst he looked at his roommate in sadness. His fingers began to trail over his ribs, each one. They'd know each other for a while and every time Ashton had seen or touched the blonde's body he grimaced at the bony feeling.

Not once had Ashton asked Luke what his weight was. He respected him more than that but there were always moments he was curious."Please try and eat Lukey," Ashton begged as his fingers continued to trail the younger boys body.

"I do," Luke protested.

"You haven't been lately," Ashton argued remembering the struggle to try and get Luke to just eat one bite of his meal. "Have you eaten today?" he questioned worriedly.

"Yes," Luke informed him proudly.

However, the curly haired boy wasn't sure whether to believe him, therefore, he narrowed his eyes in suspicion. "Really?"

"Yes. But I didn't eat breakfast because I didn't want it but I had some cookies. And I skipped lunch because I missed you. Alex asked me if I wanted dinner and I said no but he bought me some cookies."

"And you ate them?" Ashton asked suspiciously.

"Yeah. I like cookies," the blonde giggled like a little kid.

Ashton smiled. "So are you going to live off cookies for all of your life?"

"Probably," the blonde shrugged. "I will get better Ashton. I promise."

Ashton nodded. "You're only getting better for yourself Luke. No one else. Not me. Not your mum. No one. Okay?"

"Okay," Luke agreed, wrapping his arms round the older boy. The familiar feeling of warmth and happiness overtaking his body as he hugged Ashton for the last time.

"So, you're my ex?" the blonde asked pulling away. The mood dropping drastically.

"When I leave this place, you will be," Ashton confirmed. "Let's get some sleep." He pulled back the blondes duvet.

"Together?"

"Together."

"Will you be here when I wake up?"
