Chapter Seventy
-
Clothes shopping was neither of the boy's favourites things to do, especially when it was for suits. Something they never thought they would wear. Nevertheless, Liz was dragging all three boys out and her soon to be husband to find suits for them to wear.
Meanwhile, she was going to find her dress, therefore, she sends them all off in hopes they would actually find one. Taking Alex with her.
"Shall we go in there?" Jack smirked, pointing over to a toy shop. He had no intention of choosing a suit to wear because he would not feel comfortable in it what so ever, even if it made his mother happy.
"But mum wants us to find suits," the blonde protested, gazing back at his mother who disappeared into a dress shop with Alex.
"And we will after," Jack told him. Luke looked over at Ashton who just shrugged. He was surprised he was even part of this whole wedding process, so he decided to have no input on what happens. Just let everyone tell him what to do.
"Fine," Luke groaned knowing they were never going to chose a suit in time for his mother.
-
"Found a suit yet?" Liz asked, a hand on her him as she glared at the three boys who were just walking out of a shop which Jack led them into, despite the younger boy's protest.
"I don't really want to wear a suit," Jack admitted, ignoring her question.
"Tough, it's only for a day. Now, move!" she snapped, annoyed that they were not letting her have her moment for once. All three and Alex followed silently over to a shop which sold, rented and tailored suits.
Whilst Liz went to discuss what type of suits she wanted, Alex looked over at all three boys. "Please don't put up a fight. She is so happy about this wedding, so please, just this once, obey whatever she said."
Luke nodded and Ashton stayed back. But Jack pulled a face, nevertheless agreeing to follow his mother's orders.
It was not long later that Liz returned with another lady who beamed at them. "What a handsome bunch you got there," she smiled, inspecting each boy. "All yours?"
"Those two are," she revealed, pointing to Jack and Luke. "Ashton is Luke's boyfriend."
Luke and Ashton were expecting a negative response towards their different relationship, however, she just cooed. "How cute! And you must be the lucky man?" she asked Alex who smiled back politely.
"Very lucky," he agreed, causing the blonde woman to blush.
"What a perfect family you are all going to be," she imagined, not knowing the current situation. "Shall we get you all sorted out then."
Firstly she handed Jack a suit which roughly suited his fittings, yet could always be tailored after. Then was Ashton, who felt rather agitated by the woman touching him for measurements, and after sent him off to change.
Luke sort of shied away, not wanting to be touched or measured. He dreaded to even put a suit on. "You're a small one, aren't you?" the women said as she inspecting Luke over. "Very skinny," she remarked.
Luke bit his lip, and everything went loudly silent, both Alex and his mother's eyes landing on Luke's expression which was a lopsided smile and sort of frown. She asked the young boy for his average clothes size and measured the lengths of his arms and legs. Before handing him the desired suit. "Smallest we have for a boy your height."
It actually made Luke happy that he was given the smallest suit possible for his height, yet nerved him to try and fit into it.
Heading into the changing room, he began to button up the shirt which fit nicely, a little tighter over the roundest part of his stomach, nevertheless fit well. But, seeing as he was quickly gaining weight in the couple of weeks that had now passed since a therapy session, it was yet again all going to his stomach and it was now beginning to show.
Pulling on the trousers, the blonde knew straight away they were not going to button over his waistline. He knew he shouldn't get upset about it, he was not upset about gaining weight. But, it was new to him not wearing the smallest clothes size and having it too big on himself.
"You alright in there buddy," Alex called, gently knocking on the door. Luke sighed and opened the door, yanking the shirt over the undone button.
"You look so good Luke!" Liz gushed, so happy her little boy looked healthy in an outfit for once.
"The trousers don't fit," he spoke practically inaudibly.
"Huh?" Alex muttered. Luke's eyes flickered over to his boyfriend, feeling embarrassed and Ashton would hate him for this.
"They don't fit," Luke muttered, pulling up the hem of his shirt to revealed the trouser button apart, not looking at all that it would button.
"That's fine," the women in the shop dismissed. "I'll get you the next size up."
She did not understand how insecure they boy was, though, that this was no normal situation. She returned to the next size for the once anorexic to try on. When he returned again, they were slightly too big. Despite that, he looked like he wanted to cry.
"We could tailor them to fit around his waist," the woman suggested, holding them so they fit snuggly around his midsection.
"No, " Luke disagreed facing reality. "They will fit me in a months time," he admitted knowing he is only going to gain more weight so he is even healthier. After all, both Alex and Sid wanted him to weigh at least one hundred and fifty.
Alex caught eye contact with the younger boy and could not help but smile.
"Alright, if you find that they don't fit nearer to the time, bring them back and I'll take them in," she admitted kindly.
"Thank you," Liz smiled thankfully, looking over at her son to ensure he was alright and surprisingly he did not seem too distressed about it all.
Liz went to pay and the older man pulled the blonde to the side. "Are you okay?"
"I'm good," Luke agreed, confidently.
"You've gained quite a bit of weight," Alex pointed out, rather proudly.
"Not really," Luke shrugged. "I've only gained about seven pounds this month. It all just shows on my stomach, though."
"You can go to the gym is you want, with Ashton," Alex suggested. "If you feel uncomfortable about it all.
"I'm good," Luke dismissed the offer. "For the first time, I am actually happy with my body."
