Chapter Nine
-
Society taught Ashton that no matter what size someone was, they will never be good enough. They're always too skinny, too fat, too short, too tall. Too this, too that.
Therefore the curly haired boy had learnt to be his own kind of beautiful. It didn't matter to him if a piece of hair was out of place or he ate too much the previous night.
To Ashton, all that mattered was that he loved himself, not what society thought of him. And now he'd like to teach his new roommate that. Because Ashton thought Luke was cute, and maybe they had a chance together.
However, Ashton could only love the blonde if he learnt to love himself first.
Currently, Luke was laying on his bed, freshly showered washing the puke off of himself, reading the only book his mother packed for him. The book which the blonde always turned back to even though he was now Fifteen years old. Peter Pan.
The hazel eyed boy watched Luke read the old hardback happily. His lips turned up as his blue orbs scanned the yellow washed pages. Small noises would escape the blonde's mouth like he'd have never read the novel before.
Ashton wasn't a fan of reading, he would rather listen to someone read to him. Yet he was pleasantly at peace with watching the anorexic get glued to the book.
The curly haired boy was not sure if Luke showed the same interest in him. There first few and only conversation and been based around negative things often leading to arguments. Therefore he had to wait and see which way the wind was blown and if he would ever have a chance with someone he perceived as beautiful.
"Guess who?" a green-haired boy said pushing open the door without consent. Ashton was used to it, Luke, on the other hand, placed his book down gently and frowned.
"You can't just walk in."
"We do it all the time," Michael shrugged taking a seat on the edge of the blonde's bed.
"You do. I knock," Calum defended following behind the green-eyed boy. He flashed Luke a sympathetic smile.
"I could have been naked," he spoke sitting up next to Michael.
"There's nothing to hide blondie, I'm sure you've got a cute little sausage," the green haired boy smirked giving the younger boys head a pat.
"I'm not a dog," Luke spat standing up offended by what Michael said. Walking over towards the wall he pouted with his arms crossed around his frail torso.
Laughing slightly Ashton questioned, "Are you doing Alex's activities?"
Snickering slightly Michael said, "He's so cheesy. He's like the father no one would want."
"Is he married?" Calum asked curiously from where he sat with his chin resting on his knees.
"Probably not. Who'd want to spend their life with him and plus he's always here. He never takes a holiday-"
Whilst the three boys were discussing one of the therapist's life, the blonde began to scratch away at his hand. Agitated by how many people were in the room talking.
He hated people, especially when they sat close to him. And currently, there were two people pressed up close against him. His breathing became heavy and his ocean blue eyes watered.
"Go away!" Luke hissed then froze after what he said.
"What did we do?" the green haired boy asked defensively watching Luke in a full state of panic.
