Chapter Thirty-five
-
Over the month which had quickly passed Luke and Alex's relationship sort of faded away with it. Luke didn't notice. But Alex sure as hell did and it stung like a wasp.
His patient opened up way more to Victoria that he did him. Therefore, the woman was the one who got to help him through his problems. Alex did not know why Luke opened up more to Victoria. She was way stricter whereas Alex actually cared about the boy. The grey haired man did not see that was exactly the problem.
Nothing really ever got done with Alex. He let Luke get away with too many things. Unlike Victoria, who would not let Luke leave a meal without finishing anything.
Ever since Ashton left, the blonde either was with Alex or Victoria which gave him a little bit more encouragement to try. Due to this, the anorexics weight has been fluctuating up and down. Currently, it was on the rise.
One of the main aspects of the boy's weight gain was that one day he finally saw what everyone else saw. When looking in the mirror he jumped in fright at the skeleton staring back at him. As a result, the first thing he did was eat anything he could find.
However, only having a small stomach meant he quickly became full and it all came back up in the form of sick. Nevertheless, with his weight rising, he was looking more and more normal and healthy every day.
There was one thing Victoria was concerned about. That was the fact that Luke was eating a lot more than someone at his stage of recovery. She was worried that he was going to gain weight too quickly and fall straight back down again.

"Luke?" Victoria asked as she watched the boy slowly eat his fish fingers, beans and fries. He was struggling to eat today, maybe because he knew he was going to be weighed tomorrow and was scared of the increase.
"Yeah?" he responded, once swallowing a little food.
"How are you feeling?" she asked a little concerned about the saddened look on his face.
"Okay, I suppose," the blonde shrugged. In all honesty, he felt numb.
"You suppose?" the women questioned knowing there was something wrong. "What's up?"
"The sky!" Luke joked laughing sadly.
Victoria smiled at the silly little joke which was not unusual from Luke. "Yeah, but seriously."
"I miss Ashton, a lot."
The anorexic let his fork drop to his plate making a clattering noise and dumped his head into his hands.
"Maybe I can arrange for you two to meet, or phone each other," she suggested trying to brighten up her patient's mood.
Luke looked down. He's found Ashton's number, the one he had left for Luke to find and then call him. But Luke tried every day and Ashton never picked up the phone. This meant it was either wrong or Ashton was ignoring him.
Because out of about thirty calls, someone who lives in Sydney is bound to pick up when the person who's calling is from Perth. "I've tried. He never answers. Plus, he broke up with me and doesn't want to meet until we get out. Well, he was not even sure on that really."
