Chapter Fifteen
-
There is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft...
When you kill a man you steal his life. You still his wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a father.
When you tell a lie, you still someone's right to truth.
When you cheat, you still someone's right to fairness.
Therefore technically at the moment, Luke was the suspect alongside victim of the only sin there is theft.
Kevin had sinned. Stealing the blade from Alex and then planting it in the blonde's room to get him in trouble.
He had stolen Luke's right to have a good reputation, which he was building up to a good one with some staff.
But this wasn't to say the anorexic was any better than the brunette. He had seen the boy put it in his drawer and had found it. It would be the right thing to return it. Even if Alex did blame him for stealing it.
Because by keeping it, it meant he had the intentions to use it. So they're both as bad as one another in the end.
Alex knew that one of them had the blade. By noticing the blade was gone he would have suspected that it was Kevin. He had asked about it enough times and was in denial to leave the subject alone.
Yet coming across Luke's files spread across his desk he wondered if the blonde had come looking for him because that was something that happened often. He has seen the door was open and being the curious boy he was he wanted to see what the therapist thought about him.
Then he came across the blade and pocketed it because he still hated himself. The grey-haired man new Luke despised his body, therefore, it would make sense.
However, going against the authority rules of allowing patients to have sharp objects he left it to be. He didn't want to confront the boys instead just leave it all to unravel.
He concluded that if the blonde did not have fresh cuts upon his body then he did not have the blade, Kevin did. Likewise, if he did then he would instantly confront the boy and immediately take away the blade and dispose of it this time.
What confused Alex thought was, why would Kevin want the blade? He was an alcoholic and abused the use of drugs which there were possible signs of depression within therefore maybe he'd want to harm himself as well.
Yet he didn't want to check the brunette body and find nothing and then have to explain what he thought. Kevin was not an understanding person and would easily flip.
-
Therefore Alex left it and now over two weeks later there has been no evidence of the boys harming themself. Well, Luke anyway.
So he just finalised that maybe Kevin disposed of it for him. He left it there.
-
"That will be all for today Ashton," Sid said standing up from where he sat opposite Ashton on a chair and collected his files smiling widely.
