Chapter Thirteen

-

"Hi," a hoarse voice said from the doorway. Putting down his magazine Ashton looked to the left and saw the blonde boy he missed so much.

"Oh my god!" Ashton cheered as he leapt off of his bed and dashed towards Luke. He engulfed the boy in a huge hug and smiled. "You look so much better."

It was an exaggeration. Luke still looked like a skeleton and he was still at a high risk of heart failure however no longer looked deathly blue instead a pale pinky colour to show he was getting the nutrients he needed even is it wasn't anywhere near enough.

Pulling back again to inspect the boy who was startled the curly haired boy frowned upon seeing the nasal gastric tube under his nose. He felt a pang of sorrow that Luke had to g through this. Having a price of plastic rammed up his nose must decrease his self-confidence even more.

"Thanks-" Luke smiled unsure if that was a good thing or not. Was Ashton saying he was fat? Looking down Luke judged if he looked like he'd gained more weight physically, and personally he didn't think he did, thanks to him.

Knowing the blonde's actions too well Ashton began to rambling into a sorry. "No not like. You don't look fat or anything. You still look like a skeleton. It doesn't look like you've gained any weight. You just have more colour in your face, you know. So you look a by better. But I mean you still need to-"

"That's enough Ashton," Alex chuckled as he entered the room placing a supportive hand on the blondes fragile shoulder.

"Sorry," Ashton muttered as he looked down at his sock covered fewer. His shows showing off his large feet. The black cotton had embroidered pizza on and made the boy craze the greasy food.

"You're weird," Luke smiled not at all being offended by what Ashton said. He wanted to start their friendship relationship over again and not be so ignorant towards him.

The blonde needed friends to support him. People to tell him that that gaining weight was the right thing to do and that he was not getting fat. Never had a proper friend before Luke wasn't sure how to keep or talk to one correctly.

"I know," Ashton shrugged taking pride of his originality. "That's why I'm here."

There was a long silence of both boys staring at each other. Longingly taking in each other after so long. It was strange that even though they'd only known each other for a few days they both felt a deep connection.

Suddenly and unexpectedly Luke started laughing. Ashton tilted his head to the side and frowned out of puzzlement. He then became slightly self-conscious that maybe he had something on his face. Or his outfit was weird.

But the laughing continued and the blonde clutched his stomach in pain. Slightly worried the grey hair man placed a firm grip upon his frail shoulder. "You okay?" he checked leading the boy over to his bed and made him sit down in fear that he may collapse.

"Yeah," Luke gasped out of breath finally coming to sense. "Wow I'm unfit," he muttered a little disappointed with himself.

"You're not," The curly-haired boy quickly disagreed never wanting the anorexic boy to think badly of himself. However, that was often the case, and one of the reasons he devolved anorexia.
