Chapter Forty-four

-

"You haven't eaten much," Liz regarded as her youngest son asked to go. Jack eyed him up suspiciously knowing he'd lost a little weight.

"I don't feel well, my throats sore," Luke admitted which was true. He'd constantly been having a sore throat, but he knew exactly why.

"Again?" she asked a little worried because this had been one of the multiple occasions he complained of a sore throat.

She could just assume he was lying to just get out of consuming any more food. However, he genuinely did seem in pain when he was eating and his voice was a little hoarse.

"I think I'm going to get you a doctors appointment just to check you're alright and everything," she told him, a little concerned.

"No, it's fine. In fine," Luke protested really not wanting a medical expert to check him over. Knowing they would know exactly what was causing his sore throat.

"Luke, this has been going on for a while now. Just to be on the safe side," she argued getting up to fetch the phone.

Ideally, the blonde wanted to leave the table to throw up right now. He'd been doing so for a while and didn't want to stop as he knew his weight was decreasing, and he liked that feeling.

He also enjoyed binging during the night, he was so hungry from throwing up all day that he just had to eat and he couldn't stop. But even after binging he'd still throw up all the contents inside of him.

"Tomorrow morning, you'll be missing school," Liz told her youngest son who was still sat at the table.

Luke nodded and was secretly glad he'd miss a bit of school. He didn't want to deal with nasty people anymore, yet really didn't want to tell them.

She walked up behind her son and wrapped her arms around him. "Are you sure you're alright?" she whispered into her ear. Luke vaguely nodded, hating lying to her. "You can talk to me Lukey if you're not. I really don't want you going back to the way you were. You can talk to Ashton too," she told him whilst fiddling with his hair.

"I'm okay mum," he reassured her. "Schools stressful with exams and everything."

"Okay," she nodded before turning away. Jack watched Luke the whole time, never speaking a word, neither really talked anymore after the incident on the beach day.

The blonde stated out the window as his mother drove him to the doctors. He was nervous, to say the least. He was afraid everyone would be angry with him and make him eat normally again.

"You wouldn't lie to me Luke, would you?" the women spoke up breaking the silence.

Luke snapped out of his daydreams and quickly thought. He knew she hated lying, but sometimes it was better than the truth. "No."

"You promise me your okay?" she checked.

"I'm fine mum. I just have a sore throat," Luke told her straight faced.

"And you promise me no one says anything to you at school, you're not getting bullied."

"No, I said I'd tell you and Ashton if I did."
