Robby looked at her shocked, he sat her down and then sat next to her. She had the phone in her hand, staring at the blank screen. Her mother had called her, she told Miraleigh that she got a call to come to the station and talk with her father. Then her mother got her daughter's number somehow and called her.
"I don't know what to do, I don't get how mum didn't try harder for me. She knows dad is a lying bastard, but then to call me up and say 'hey let's talk.' I don't get it, I don't know what to do. Eight years she could've come and get me. I could've had a better life, maybe she never wanted me. Maybe she just wanted to start over and forget about her first family. I don't think she ever loved me." Robby tucked some hair behind her ear, he then knelt in front of her. Placing his hands on her biceps and smiled sadly at her.
"Miraleigh, listen to me. If your mother doesn't love you, I'd be horrified. Anyone would love to have you as their daughter; you are so kind, caring, lovely, friendly, funny, wise and just awesome. You are the child that parents would brag about because of how well they behaved and that they just are generally the perfect child. Miraleigh, don't ever think somebody doesn't want you. You are a great person, anyone who doesn't want you is stupid and insane. Miraleigh, if you want I will come with you if you agree to speak with her. Don't ever doubt yourself, if she pushes you away it's her fault not yours. Do not blame yourself for your parents' actions." He hugged her, placing his hand on the back of her head. She had her arms wrapped around his neck and sniffled lightly.
"Thank you for being here for me." She whispered quietly, he nodded and swiped away her tears. She smiled sadly, taking a deep breath and looked at the door then back at him.
"Robby go join them, I'm too much of a kill joy at the moment." He shook his head, sat back down next to her and wrapped an arm around her waist as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Not until you're feeling better." He whispered, she chuckled sadly and shook her head. Biting her lip, she smiled and shook her head. Robby watched her, wishing he knew what she was thinking about.
"I think I'm ready now." She whispered, he nodded and helped her stand up. She took a shaky breath, smiling and swiped away some of the tears that were still on her cheeks.
"Come on, let's go have dinner." She smiled and nodded, walked back inside with Robby and sat down to have dinner.
"Come on you guys would've fallen off more than once." Samantha stated with a smile, Miraleigh giggled and thought back to earlier in the day.
"She did, I didn't." Miraleigh looked at him with a fake accusing look and smirked playfully.
"Yeah you did!" She exclaimed cheekily.
"I stumbled that's not the same thing." Samantha and Miraleigh shared a look then looked back at Robby.
"Yes it is!" He shook his head smiling and continued the playful argument.
"Miraleigh how did you fall off?" Samantha asked, Miraleigh snorted covered her mouth and giggled.
"There was a spider, I have a phobia of spiders so I didn't exactly take it too well." She laughed at how silly it seemed.
"Miraleigh, don't worry when I was learning I jumped at a cockroach." Samantha said, they all chuckled and Lucille smiled turning to Miraleigh.
"Miraleigh, tell me about your family." Lucille said with a curious smile, Miraleigh looked at her and kept her smile up so she wouldn't suspected anything.
"Mum." Daniel said sternly, she gave him a reassuring smile and spoke.
"My family is quite good, my mum works as a chef and my dad is a business man. He goes away for a little while then comes back." She lied, Robby and Samantha frowned. Knowing it was a lie, but kept the smiles up to match her face.
"What's the place called that your mum works at?" She asked, Miraleigh bit the inside of her cheek and continued to fake her smile.
"It's this little cute restaurant just outside of the Valley." She continued to lie, while Daniel didn't know all about her life, he knew that it wasn't her favourite subject to talk about.
"Come on mum, she doesn't need to continue talking about it." Miraleigh looked down at the plate in front of her, she felt someone nudge her foot and it caused her to look at Robby. He gave her a look that said 'are you okay?' She nodded, giving him a reassuring smile and continued talking with him as well as Samantha.
It was time for Robby and Miraleigh to leave, Robby grinned at her as he walked at her side. She smiled back at him, her cheeks turning a rosy pink colour. He chuckled, blushing himself and watched her with a gleam in his eyes.
"Robby, I wanna say thank you for being here for me and for putting up with my crap." He looked at her offended and stopped walking, he hugged her tightly and pulled away to look into her eyes.
"I love being with you, you're a great person to be around and you do not need to thank me. You're one of the greatest people that I have met and have in my life. I mean it when I say I'll be there with you when all the crap happens to you." She hugged him this time, smiling happily he chuckled and nodded at her.
"You are one of the greatest people I've met to Robby." He smiled widely, then watched her hop on the skateboard. She wobbled, clutched onto Robby's shoulders and squeaked as the skateboard slid under her feet. Robby wrapped his arms around her waist, catching her before she fell on the ground. Her entire body froze, her breath hitched in her throat and she stared into his eyes. He smiled softly at her, gently placing her feet on the ground and stared into her eyes for a little bit.
"Are you okay?" He asked quietly, she nodded and swallowed the lump in the back of her throat.
"Yes, thank you." He nodded and pulled away from the hold he hand on her. She smiled sheepishly and grabbed his skateboard, handing it back to him. He took is gently from her hands and continued walking at her side until they reached her place. She turned and looked at him, a small smile on her face.
"See you tomorrow?" She asked
"See you tomorrow." He confirmed.
