The doctor explained that Miraleigh had inhaled a bunch of smoke, so they need to keep her under observation for 6 hours after she woke up. Mike felt horrible for what happened to the girl, he explained that the insurance company is investigating and that as soon as he knew anything he would tell her, it was the right thing to do. It still made him furious that the fire had been caused and that Miraleigh could've been much worse if the firefighters didn't hear her. It made them all furious, as the day went by Miraleigh hadn't woken up yet but was moving in her sleep and breathing fine.

It was around 5 in the afternoon, Robby never left the chair and stayed in the same position pretty much all day. He wouldn't get up until Miraleigh was awake, he ignored Johnny telling him to get something to eat or drink, he just didn't want to be away from Miraleigh until she was awake and knew that she was fine.

Miraleigh woke up, her eyes darted across the room, soon realising where she was and took a deep breath. She turned her head to her right and smiled at Robby who was holding her hand up and staring at a wall.

"Sweetheart, oh my god." Miraleigh smiled at the boy, smiling as he placed her hand down and stood up to get some help. Johnny, Mike and a nurse came in, Robby could tell his girlfriend was stressed out and yet tired all at the same time.

The nurse did a routine check-up and got Miraleigh to try breathing without the oxygen mask and she seemed to do alright. Overall, the girl would have a few scans and tests to check her lungs and if everything was fine she'd be able to go home.

The girl struggled to understand the word vomit, she just woke up and all the words being thrown at her went over her head and overwhelmed her, seeing that she was starting to react Robby grabbed her hand and kissed her hand.

"It's okay, sweetheart, don't worry." He whispered, caressing her cheek and giving a comforting smile to reassure her that it would be okay. Miraleigh nodded, holding onto his hand and went to ask a question but the nurse walked out.

"What happened?" The girl questioned, staring at Robby worriedly, he looked at the two adult men and sighed softly.

"A fire was started,  you were the only one in the building, in simple terms... you inhaled a bunch of smoke, so you just need to wait a couple of hours and hopefully it'll be fine." Miraleigh nodded, rubbing her eyes tiredly and hummed gently.

"Miraleigh, I'll pay for your medical bills and when you're better, all of you come to my place for dinner. This is my fault." Robby nodded for Miraleigh, everyone left the room giving the two teens some space.

"Can I do anything for you?" The boy questioned, Miraleigh nodded and smiled softly at the concerned gaze he carried.

"Could you help me to the bathroom, please? I feel a little dizzy." Robby nodded, he pushed the bedframe rails down and helped her up. He grabbed the iv pole, walking it with her to the bathroom, supporting both her and making sure the pole wouldn't drag her down or the needle out of her arm. After Miraleigh did her business, Robby walked back to her, helped her to the bed and let her rest once again.

"How are you doing?" Robby questioned, staring into her eyes, the girl shrugged lightly and fiddled with her hands. Miraleigh took a shaky breath, biting her lip and raising her hand to pick at some dry skin but Robby took her hand and just stared at her. It was a loving and comforting look that just spoke a thousand words without any words needing to be said.

"Obviously, I was lucky and there are people that have been worse off... but it was terrifying, the glass just started exploding, I tried my luck at escaping but the flames jumped at me. It was so hot in there, I could feel my lungs struggling for air, I could feel myself struggling to breathe. It felt so easy to just give up, I don't mean it like that... it was just so hard to do anything and it was scary. I didn't like being trapped in there, Robby I love you... I love you so much... I was so worried that I wouldn't say that to you again and that I could be dead right now."

Robby stared at her with broken eyes, he could feel her wanting to break down and cry but she tried to hold it together and it was painful to watch. He climbed into the bed with her, they shimmied around until they were both comfortable and all the wires were fine. He brought her into her arms and started singing his song for the girl, he could feel her calm down and her breathing soothe from her panic of explaining what she felt and she just laid with him, letting that secure feeling soothe and comfort her.

"I'll stay with you all night, I don't care what they say, I'm not leaving you," Robby promised her, promising himself that Miraleigh wouldn't feel alone or lost by herself.

"Only, if you get something to eat and drink and go for a walk."

"Deal." She smiled, tilting her head to look up at him and grinned faintly as he kissed her forehead and reached for the tv remote. They watched Miraleigh's favourite show which was on and it was a rerun of her favourite episode so the girl was thrilled and was able to enjoy a hospital with someone for once. Someone that wouldn't leave her or repeat actions that made her feel shitty.

With lots of convincing, Robby was able to stay with Miraleigh for the night, they pulled out a cot they usually use for guardians if they have a very ill child and laid it in the girl's room. Robby went to the apartment, grabbed Miraleigh some stuff and changed into something a little comfier for the night. Miraleigh gleamed as Robby brought her the stuffed dog he won for her at the festival, it was the item she cherished most and it would always be dear to her.

"So, what are we watching tonight?" Robby questioned, handing her some chocolate he got on the way over, Miraleigh thought for a moment and shrugged slightly.

"We are watching.... 10 things I hate about you because that's what's on and I love that movie." He nodded, climbing back in with her and making sure that she had most of the space on the bed.
