"They're Australian." Miraleigh pointed out, Robby glanced at her, looking at the men Johnny was approaching.
"How can you tell?" He asked curiously, stunned by how she just glanced at them and could tell their nationality. The girl chuckled at Robby's question, smiling gently at him and kissing his cheek before pointing over to him.
"There's a flag on one of their bags and I heard the accent." He nodded, held her in his arms, and then kissed the side of her forehead.
"I've always wanted to go to Australia, you know, depending on where you are, you'll have warm days or cold days. The entire country is surrounded by water, it's the only island that's a continent, did you know that? Obviously, that means it is surrounded by water, you'd have a summer Christmas instead and there are things I've always wanted to try over there. You know, those documentaries they make you watch about Australia, that's not what Australia just is, sure, just like anywhere there are dangerous animals but there's normal suburbia and you don't have to worry about the animals as often. Just pretty much, what Hollywood makes it seem, there's so much more to that, than living in the outback." Robby grinned at her little info rant, then kissed her cheek and chuckled at her flustered look.
Robby watched for a few more moments, frowning as the men went to go and attack Johnny, the two teens dropped their bags down, running in to help the older man. Miraleigh fought a little dirtier than the two guys, but then again they also fought dirty. She kicked one guy in the groin, causing him to bend over and then she punched him in the head before kicking him in the chest to the ground.
Robby pushed a guy out of the way as he went to tackle Miraleigh to the ground, Robby beat him and then checked on Miraleigh to make sure she was fine from helping off fighting the other guys. Miraleigh stood with her feet in the water, the two guys spoke on the beach by the van and the girl sighed in contentment with the wind blowing in her hair and the water crashing against the shore.
The brunette girl closed her eyes, feeling the coolness of the sun resting on the horizon. Robby grabbed his phone out and took a photo of the girl and then walked down to her. Miraleigh opened her eyes to see who was approaching her, she smiled at Robby and took his hand as they both stood in the water. The sand tickled her toes, rushing between them and then rushed back as the water drew back.
Robby pulled her into his arms, embracing her into a comforting hold, kissing her forehead and swaying slightly with the tiny-tiny waves that hit their ankles.
"You wanna go home?" He whispered into her ears, she shook her head and buried her face in his chest. Robby fiddled with strands of her hair, waiting for her to respond but enjoyed the moment between them both.
"No, I wanna stay with you, I figure you're staying here with Johnny. So, I'm staying with you, I want to be with you." The girl whispered back, focusing on the sound that comforted her, she could really live by the ocean and to fall asleep hearing this sound would just be comforting and amazing.
"Okay." He nodded, humming slightly, he took her hand and led her back to the van. They both dried off and then got back in the car to continue on their journey. Robby shared his bag of chips with the girl, Miraleigh rested her head on the window and fiddled with the jacket that belonged to Robby but that she wore.
The car ride was silent besides music playing through the speakers, Robby once again moved to the back and had Miraleigh resting her head on his shoulder and she fiddled with his fingers. Robby caressed her arm and took deep breaths as the car ride continued.
"Robby?" Miraleigh whispered, staring off into the void, the boy glanced down at her and kissed her forehead before answering.
"Yeah?" He whispered, continuing to fiddle with her hair, Miraleigh. took a deep breath and hummed slightly. Miraleigh hesitated for a moment, unsure if she actually wanted to say what she wanted to say.
"When we get back, could you and I... could we please... could we please go to my old place?" Robby was a little surprised, yet he nodded and kissed the side of her forehead.
"Yeah, of course, sweetheart," Robby whispered, he didn't know what made her want to go back there but he was going to support her in any of her choices. Robby took her hand as they walked into the motel room for the night. Miraleigh had a quick shower, laid down in bed, her pyjamas hanging off her body and Robby copied her actions and then laid next to her.
Miraleigh turned to stare at him, smiling calmly at him, then traced the line on his forehead. The very faint scar was barely noticeable from a distance but up close you could notice the line. Miraleigh blushed slightly as he raised her shirt slightly to feel the biggest scar she received from Kaylee. She wasn't uncomfortable with the scar, Robby made her feel loved and unashamed of the line that decorated her skin.
"You're gorgeous, I never want to look away from you, you've got a smile that makes others smile. I love seeing you smile." Robby informed her, his thumb continuing to stroke the scar, the rest of her body still had the littler scars, each of which had faded away.
"Can we talk about what happened the other night?" He questioned, sighing as she shook her head and buried her face in his chest.
"Miraleigh, there's no way, not even any chance that I'm letting you stay on the streets or some dingy little motel room by yourself. I don't even care what he says, you're staying with me and we'll still be together."
"But Robby... you're Johnny's son, I have no guardian and I'm not letting my shitty problems interfere with you and Johnny." Robby kissed her forehead, pulled her closer to him and kissed her lips.
"That doesn't matter, you don't deserve to be out on the streets so you and I are still gonna live together. Okay?" She nodded with a sigh, took his hand and stared into his eyes.
"Thanks for always looking out for me." The girl whispered, smiling as Robby nodded and rested his hands on her back.
"I should be thanking you, you've done too much for me, you're still doing much more than you should be doing but I appreciate it but I need you to relax for a little bit." Miraleigh nodded, closing her eyes as Robby hummed a song.
