She heard footsteps coming from a distance. By the time, the sound got higher until it suddenly stopped. She could smell his scent, feel his presence but she couldn't dare look him in the eyes. Instead, she kept her gaze down, buried in her palms. And whom she was just asking for help a second ago, she now wanted him to get away from her as far as possible. She was dangerous. She was scared. She didn't want him to get involved in her tragedic story. He wasn't that kind of a guy who would seek for trouble. She was drowning in an ocean of mixed feelings.

"Should I hang on to him... Or he'll get hurt because of me... Or he'll hurt me... Should I let him in... Or get him out for the sake of him... Should I stay... Or he'll leave. Should I ask him to leave... Or just enjoy his presence... Should I protect him... Or he would protect me... Should I give myself a chance... Or maybe be his second chance... But either way... I am not meant to be given a chance."

And out of that deep grave she had buried herself in, he extended his hands but she didn't extend hers to get help. He leaned to the ground on his knees right in front of her. And as she was covering her face with her white pale hands, he held it in his to get a better view of her sparkly turquoise gems. Her face was red from crying and she was barely able to take in her breathe. She was still looking at the ground though, she couldn't look up at him. He talked softly.

Luka: Melody, you're not okay.

He said cautiously confirming a fact. She replied in a question.

Melody: H... How... D... Did you find me?

That would seem weird to Luka if he didn't know Melody that well. But he does and he just accepted her question and answered.

Luka: I followed your voice.

She shoved her face away from him and commanded.

Melody: Leave!

He frowned and felt the pain. Not for himself but for her. He knew she was scared but he didn't bear leaving her like that. He couldn't do it anyway. He was stuck with her and he didn't have much of a choice. Instead of leaving, he held her face in his soft palms and said sincerely as holding up her teary gaze to meet his.

Luka: Melody, running away is never the solution. Take my hand. You shouldn't stay alone.

Every word... Every look... Every touch. It all made her heart beat for him. It all made her fall for him harder each second. She knew she wasn't supposed to hold on to those feelings even though she wanted to. He was in danger as long as he is around her. But was it the only reason she was scared to surrender for those feelings? Honestly, she was scared he would leave... Just like everyone else left. Her father, her mother, her brother, her childhood friends. Everyone she has ever met in all. What if he also left? Left her alone after smashing her heart. She wouldn't survive that. She was crying still not answering what he said. She just couldn't say what was on her mind sincerely. He didn't have the right words to talk back either so it was just a moment of deadly silence between them. He knew as much as he talked, words couldn't help much. He wanted to play her a melody but he felt as if she wouldn't get that either. What to do? It was a question he didn't have an answer to. Maybe just stay here, next to her. Wasn't it supposed to be a day to make her happy? Didn't she promise herself to have him for a day? Neither of them got what they were looking for but maybe because they only expected happiness. Is happiness something we can expect or wait for?

Melody: Wherever I go, I drag bad luck with me. The kids at school weren't lying when they said that.

Suddenly, she felt danger cornering them from everywhere. Something bad was going on. She felt that in her heart. She quickly stood and looked up to the sky then kept turning around with determination in her eyes. She was done with running for now. She was roaring like a lion that feels the prey moving around, only waiting for the right moment to attack. Suddenly, she found a huge rock getting thrown their way from upside and was about to finish them. She didn't have much of a choice or enough time to think of another solution. She shouted.
