And as Melody's life couldn't get any better, Peter's life was starting to get worse. He came back home after a wild day of work to find Jasmine waiting for him with a happy face.

Peter: Good evening, babe.

Jasmine: Hello, honey. So how was work today?

Peter: It was full.

Jasmine: You didn't find anything new?

Peter: No, we didn't. It's just not logical how she disappeared like that. She left nothing behind, Jasmine. Not even footsteps. We searched the backyard for any hidden doors or rooms but found nothing. What might have happened to her? She can't just teleport from one place to another like that.

Jasmine: This case is becoming worldwide. Everyone is searching for the girl that disappeared in thin air. You have to find her Peter. Imagine how that will turn out. You will get a promotion and it might never get better.

Peter: Is that all you ever think about?

He looked at her with his eyes full of boredom and annoyance.

Peter: It's all my fault. I was the worst brother any girl would ever have.

He then got up and caught his coat then walked to the door but before leaving he turned around and said a few words to her.

Peter: BTW, the investigators will come tomorrow to search again her room and the backyard.

He said in a cold voice she had never heard from him before. She answered in an annoyed voice.

Jasmine: But Peter. They came yesterday too. I am done with this. Why did my supposed-to-be backyard turn into a crime scene?

Peter: She jumped from the window so there must be a clue there. We can't say no or else we will be suspected of her disappearance. Don't do anything stupid Jasmine. Am I clear?

He turned around to leave but her voice stopped him.

Jasmine: Where are you going, Peter? It's Sunday. Aren't we supposed to go out together?

Peter: Are you really asking me to go out in such a condition, Jasmine? I am so tired, OK.

Jasmine: This case is taking all your time, Peter. You barely give me any attention because of miss Melody and her magical disappearance.

She said in an angry tone, blaming him for a mistake she has been doing for years now and he had to make that clear for her. He replied in an angry tone screaming at her.

Peter: Jasmine. The only reason all that happened was because I always gave you all the attention you needed and never cared about her. She's my little sister, Jasmine. And she's lost and guess what? I don't blame her for escaping. I never cared about her because you always took all of it and now you're blaming me for searching for her. So I should just let her go as if she was never there. She's my little sister and she's precious to me. I am going to find her either you liked that or not because if I didn't find her in the next 48 hours, they will consider her dead. Do you get that?

And he slammed the door close and rode his car then drove away leaving her behind just trying to process the things he said. He was right. She couldn't deny any of the things he said but ain't she supposed to be his wife. The only person to get his care and attention. She loves him but she is so selfish. She wanted him all for herself and ended up losing him. Was she treating Melody unfairly? Yes, she was. Was the idea of putting her in an orphanage hers? Yes, it was and it led everyone to this. But how could she make things right? She feels like he is getting distant from her each second and she wants him back.
