December. The most wonderful time of the year. It's when you can see snow in its brightest colors. It's when you can celebrate Christmas with family and friends, and not to talk about how dazzling the fireworks of new year's eve are. It's the time when lovers enjoy the winter dance every 21st of it.

All the friends were gathered at school. Some of them were excited for the Kitty section's concert two days ahead, others were talking about the winter dance that was coming their way in a couple of days. All the eyes were full of light, except Adrien's and Marinette's. Both their eyes were stuck to the empty desk at the end of the class.

Adrien's eyes were bordered with black eye bags. How could he sleep with that heavily unbearable feeling inside his heart? Every time he gets that flashback of her glitching in her bedroom, he feels as if his heart will get swallowed in his chest. How did Melody end up like that? He couldn't shake the feeling that it was his fault. She was his family, his future family he couldn't take care of. Even though he wasn't sure which generation was she, he just knew it was his fault. Especially with those weird dreams he started getting lately.

Marinette's eyes were swapped between the empty seat and Adrien's burdened eyes. She didn't know what to do and there was something she wasn't sure of. Is she one of Melody's family after all?

And as Marinette was so deep in thoughts, Rose pulled her out asking.

Rose: Hey, Marinette. Have you seen Melody anywhere? I want to ask her about something.

Marinette stood silent for a minute. She didn't know what to say exactly or what things she should know. She was saved by the teacher's entrance the next moment.

The lady walked inside the class and greeted the students while organizing her papers.

Miss Bustier: Good morning, my sweethearts. Everyone in his seat. Let's begin the lesson.

As the class got organized, each in his seat, the empty seat upstairs was finally spotted by the teacher. The lady asked in worrier.

Miss Bustier: I thought Melody would be here today. Is she alright?

Alya: She was with us last night and she was just fine. Marinette is the last one who saw her, they walked home together.

Marinette: Yeah... She's fine. She just felt a little dizzy on her way home yesterday and decided to rest. She stresses herself a lot... In studying!!

Teacher: It would be good if it's just some headache. I hope she gets well soon. We already miss her presence in class.

And the teacher started explaining the lesson. And while the whole class believed that lie, only Adrien and Marinette knew the truth. Melody was terrified and maybe they were the reason she couldn't come to class. The first three classes finally ended and the girls gathered in the school hall. Alya asked exclaiming.

Alya: She said she'll come to school today. I am starting to get worried about her.

Rose: Is she really fine?

Juleka: What about the concert. Will she be able to make it? We can't manage without her.

Alya: Marinette, can you ask her if we can visit her after school? We just want to be there for her.

Marinette looked at them anxiously. She was worried Melody won't be ready to meet someone now. Other than that, she was scared someone would know about her glitching.

Marinette: I don't know. I will ask her of course.

She said to end that conversation. Melody seemed like not having full control of her aura. Last night, they left Luka with her. Maybe he was able to calm her down somehow but from the way she acted back then, she seemed to be scared even of him. What does he have to do with her story? She didn't know but she had to be there for her.
