Chapter 10: Make A Choice

As the sound of the door slamming came breaking the silence, both Luka and Melody looked right at the door not realizing their position yet. But when they noticed that shocked reaction on Ladybug's face, they looked at each other to realize how close they were. Luka jumped back in frighten off of her. He made sure to get far away enough for her to get up then there was that silly blush on both their faces that's when Ladybug crossed her arms and gave them a look meaning that she was looking for an explanation for this. Melody knew that it was Marinette and as someone who knows Luka, she had to get a good explanation of this. Melody started talking nervously.

Melody: Ladybug, you don't get it. Really. It was raining and the lights went off so I fell and he tried to help me up but instead slipped down and fell on me then you entered and...

"Why is she explaining all this to Ladybug? It's like her mother caught her with a guy in her bed. "

Luka thought.

Ladybug: Have you two met before?

Ladybug cut her off asking. Well, that question did put Melody in a bad situation. She didn't want Marinette to know about the coincidences they had between them and at the same time was afraid that if she denied it, Luka would feel bad about it. Luka understood her bad situation and answered gently.

Luka: No we didn't. I was delivering her the groceries from where I work and it was raining so she invited me in since I couldn't drive my bicycle in the rain. That's it.

Chat noir looked at them playfully.

Chat noir: Sounds convenient enough to me.

     "They are lying. I saw them both together yesterday when they saved me and Marinette from the fire."

    Chat noir shouldn't know about this so he helped them out a little bit. Ladybug just tried to change the subject since it was starting to get awkward for everyone.

Ladybug: OK, let's get to business on why we are here, alright?

   Everyone nodded and then Chat noir continued.

Chat noir: We just figured out that howkmoth is targeting you for some reason, Melody.

Melody: What? HOWKMOTH!!!

     "Could he have known?"

That's what both Luka and Melody were thinking. Does he know that Melody is Sparrowleen? It seemed like a disaster but Melody gathered herself again and asked confidently leaning her back on a nearby wall and crossing her arms.

Melody: Why would howkmoth do that?

Ladybug: That's what we are here to know. His companion, the holder of the peacock miraculous sneaked into the school and stole your file. They seem to be gathering information about you specifically.

Chat noir: And back to the senti-monster they put inside the party to gather information about you too. Isn't it all weird?

Luka: So that's why a fire started at the house yesterday.

Chat noir: It all adds up. Did you do anything that caused him to put you in mind?

Melody: Well, he tried to akumatize me two days ago but I resisted the Akuma and that's it. Is he that much of a fool to go after me just not to feel like a loser?

Ladybug: Or... Maybe he sensed your negative emotions and wants to get them out again so that he could akumatize you.

Luka: We can't let that happen, right?
