Chapter 18: Love Is Pain

The battle was over and they were both safe and sound in their beds. He was thinking about where to take her tomorrow or how to make her laugh as she is stuck with him for 24 hours. He wants to see that pure smile on her face more than anything.

"Melody. She's just so... Perfect. How come someone as sweet as her goes through all that she's going through. To meet those people and have that kind of life. She ran from her brother back in London looking for a new start but now, howkmoth himself is after her. And let's not talk about how being Sparrowleen is also pressuring her from another side. She can't go home now as she escaped from him and staying here is putting her in danger too along with everyone around her. Including me. She was so worried."

He layed on his bed and closed his eyes to see her again in his mind. The picture of her running from him like a child holding that phone in her hand so that he doesn't take it. That sound brought him back to reality but his heart already answered the question before it was said. He opened his eyes and looked at her. He tried to act dumb as much as he could.

Luka: What do you mean?

He said in a low confident tone.

Juleka: Who?

Luka: What?

Juleka: Who is she?

Luka: Who is who?

Juleka: You know what I mean.

Luka: Nope. No, I don't.
