The girl got up from sleep breathing heavily as if a rope was tying her lungs to death. She looked around in worrier to find it already morning. She took a deep breath then got out of bed and wore her slippers then walked downstairs to have some cereals for breakfast. She sleepily opened the fridge got out the milk bottle from it then walked to the table where she put the cereals in the bowl and poured the milk on it expecting her meal to be ready when suddenly, she felt something wet on her legs and finally woke up to find milk poured all over her pajama. All that time, she didn't notice that the bowl is turned upside down. She sighed tiredly and got up from there then walked to the bathroom to take a shower. On her way there, her kwami asked in worry.

Ritti: Melody, are you okay? You seem to have got a rough night of sleep.

She faked a smile and replied not to make her kwami worry. Moreover, not to have to explain it.

Melody: I am fine, Ritti. I am sorry if I woke you up last night. I was just having a bad dream, that's all.

A bad dream or a nightmare. A few minutes later, she got out of the bathroom with her clothes on and caught her school bag from the hanger when she noticed the calendar hanging on the wall with today's date on it.

Melody: First of December.

She read slowly while a sad sigh covered her face but she quickly remembered the mission she had in hand for that day. Doing Luka's job! This December won't be like the other dark Decembers she lived. It'll be different because now, he's by her side and that's enough to make her happy. She excitedly walked out of the door and to school where it went on like a normal day.

And after a long school day, the last class's bell finally rang. Melody quickly packed her stuff and waited a few moments for Adrien to get out of class then ran to the door in a hurry. She had a job to get to before 2 p.m. She reached the door and was about to leave when Juleka called for her trying to get information by spending time with her. She called.

Juleka: Hey, Melody. Wait up.

She turned around saying.

Melody: Oh. Hey, Juleka. What's up?

Juleka: Nothing. I just wanted to say thank you for the desserts you brought last night. They were so good.

Melody smiled kindly and replied.

Melody: Don't mention it, please. It's nothing. I am glad you liked them.

Juleka: So have you got any free time today? I didn't understand the maths lesson that well. I could really use some help. You're the best of us when it comes to Maths.

The girl looked at her in a hurry then excused herself while sadness crossed her face. She didn't like turning anyone down at all but on the other hand, she had something urgent to attend to. She replied.

Melody: I am so sorry, Juleka but you see, I am kind of stuck with something and I don't think I am really free today. Not now at least. I am so sorry. If you didn't find anyone else for help, just text me. I can come over at night. I am coming anyway to check on Luka.

The shift she has got should start at 2 p.m and end at 10 p.m. The grocery shop closes after that to 8 a.m and then the other delivery guy should take the shift from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. That's how it worked. It was already 1:15. She should get early. Juleka didn't have a way out so she just nodded and Melody went running to the lockers room to get her skateboard and helmet and reach the shop on time. She has already made sure her phone had enough battery and she was also prepared with her power bank just in case. She had her earphones on and the lucky yellow bracelet he gave her. She was totally ready for this. She walked out of school, wore her helmet and protective bands on both her knees and elbows then got ready to go. Someone else stopped her.
