Chapter 43: A Smile To My Broken Hope

Late at night, on top of the Eiffel tower, he cried while they tried to relieve his sorrow. Ladybug tried to calm him down by saying.

Ladybug: Calm down, Luka. I am sure she'll show up soon. She wouldn't just leave like that. At least not without a proper goodbye.

Luka: And what do you know about her!!

   He shouted at her and she shut her mouth. He talked again.

Luka: What if howkmoth kidnapped her? He's been after her for a while now. What if she's already an Akuma? Or what if she traveled somewhere far away? She would do it if she found herself dangerous to others. What if... What if she's has done something to herself?... What if she's killed herself? What if she's dead?

   He was crying so hard. None of them could say a word. They just respected his sadness and stayed with him. They were all sad about Melody's sudden disappearance. Luka suddenly stood up and shouted.

Luka: I refuse to believe this. Melody won't just leave like this. She must be in trouble and I am here crying like a fool. I am going to keep searching for her.

And he ran downstairs and started searching the streets of the night again. Deep down, a voice screamed.

"Melody is dead. Melody is gone. She left you behind. She didn't even bother herself to say goodbye. Why do you always end up like this? You're so pathetic."

His steps got slower as he walked in Paris' streets and it started raining. He only ran away to be alone. He knew he won't find her.

   The moment he left, Chat noir held his head in pain as if he was holding it in for a long time. He started banging his head on metal bars while Ladybug asked worriedly.

Ladybug: Chat, are you okay?

Chat noir: I don't know anymore, LB. It's been two weeks since I had a good night of sleep. My head is going to explode. This lady keeps showing up in my dreams and accusing me of stuff I don't know anything about and when I wake up, I forget what she was saying and I am not even sure if these are dreams or... I don't know... Visions... And with everything that was happening with Melody and now her disappearance... I feel as if I want to jump off a cliff and die. LB, please help me.

   She hugged him and he cried in her arms like a baby. He predicted the worst scenario and asked.

Chat noir: What if Melody has really left? What if she returned to her time? We'll never know where we went wrong. Things will go just the same...

Ladybug: Shhh... Don't worry, kitty. Everything is going to be alright. I am sure Melody will return and explain everything. We'll help her defeat howkmoth and undo that horrible reality. She will return to her time where the balance would be restored and everything will be fine. Everyone will be happy at last.

Chat noir: What about Luka? What will happen to him when Melody is gone?

    Chat decided to go deep into the bright future Ladybug drew and asked. She answered.
