-Still Lukes POV-

I woke up early the next morning, the doctors had informed my family and Dakota's that she had woken up so I assumed they'd be here soon.

"Good morning babe," I whispered sitting up slowly in the chair, my back was in so much pain from sleeping like that all night but I was prepared to deal with it.

Dakota waved her arm saying hello.

I took her hand into mine before I started talking, "I"m going to go use the bathroom, do you need anything?"

She slowly shook her head no.

"Ok, I'll be right back."

I grabbed the toothbrush I bought and went into the bathroom. I wet my hair, brushed my teeth, and actually used the bathroom before walking back out.

"I'm back babe," I yawned rubbing my eyes.

Dakota was sitting in the bed opening and closing her eyes.

"That's good Dak, you'll be able to open them fully in no time."

She slowly opened her eyes enough so I could see her hazel color.

"Can you see me?"

She nodded and smiled.

I walked closer to her bedside until I was standing directly next to her, Dakota's eyes were fluttering while she tried looking up at me.

"Is it a lot of working keeping your eyes open?"

She opened her mouth and nodded.

I sat in my chair and stroked her hand while her eyes closed back up, about an hour later both of our families showed up.

"Hey guys," My mom whispered.

I was half asleep when they all arrived.

"Hi mom," I yawned.

"How'd you sleep?"

"I slept on the chair, it wasn't the most comfortable but it was ok."

"I hear Ms. Dakota is awake," Her grandma chimed walking through the door.

I looked over at Dakota trying to open her eyes back up.

"There are those pretty eyes," She said.

The doctors came in and asked Dakota to move her arms and legs again. She was able to move all of her limbs this time, her right leg was a little hard for her to move but she still did it. A nurse came in and fed her breakfast while talking to the adults, I was sitting on the couch next to Molly watching everyone.

"How was last night?" Molly asked me.

"It was good, but my back hurts so bad."

"Why didn't you just sleep on one of the couches?"

"I didn't want to leave her, she looked scared."

"Are you going to sleep here again tonight?"

"Of course I am, I'm sleeping here until she gets to leave."

Molly nodded, "That's what I figured."

"How was it sleeping at the house?"

"It was fine, really quiet though."

"Did you sleep ok?"

"Yea I slept fine."

"That's good, I think I'm going to need to take a nap at some point."

The nurse was long gone at this point and all the adults were surrounding Dakota's bedside trying to talk to her. I went over to the other couch and laid flat closing my eyes.
