"What's wrong love?"

"My body just hurts," She whined.

"We've done so much today, soon enough you'll be upstairs relaxing again."

Dakota gives me one of her serious looks, "No like it really hurts."

I looked at her with a straight face, "What do you mean?"

She started shaking her head, "I can barely move my right foot."

I knew her right leg was the one that was having trouble from the start.

"Why didn't you say that went we were at the hospital baby?"

"I just wanted out of there," She whispered.

"What about physical therapy, didn't they see you having a hard time."

"Yea but they said I was just slow...Luke, I'm having a really hard time."

"Babe you have to tell them the next time you go in."

"No, I can't, I don't wanna stay there."

"You won't have to love, just let them know they can help you."

She looked down at the ground and stayed silent.

"Ok let's start going upstairs, do you want to walk or can I carry you."

"I'd like to walk to the front door."

"Ok let's do it," I said holding my hand out for her to hang on to.

We slowly made it to the front door of the house.

"How was that?" I asked.

"My foot feels like a brick," She shook her head in disappointment.

"It's ok, let me carry you upstairs."

She nodded her head and I was able to take us both upstairs.

"I'll bring you guys both up some lunch!" My mom called up.

"Ok thank you!" I replied.

"Home sweet home," I sang putting Dakota on her bed.

"I missed being in a house," She smiled sprawled out on the mattress shoving her face into the sheets.

"I did too," I yawned rubbing my face.

"Oh, yea you've been with me the whole time."

I smiled and nodded, "Yea, I haven't had a proper shower in weeks."

"You need to go take one," She laughed plugging her nose. "I need one too."

"Let's take one together," I suggested.

She shook her head no.

"Why not, I know you need help."

"Everyone's home, what if someone walks in."

She had a point, "I gotta help you out somehow."

"I know I know, but I don't know how to get away with it."

We sat in silence until my mom came in with some food.

"Everyone's asleep downstairs so try to limit the noise," She whispered placing the food down. "Luke you need to help her shower before everyone else wakes up."

Dakota and I looked at each other and laughed, "We were just talking about that."

My mom chuckled and closed the door.

"Ok let's do this super fast," Dakota said trying to get up.

"Woah woah woah let me help."

I got up and started the shower while Dakota began to take her clothes off, I locked both doors before lifting her into the shower. I proceeded to take my clothes off before hopping in behind her, Dakota was letting the warm water hit her face while she was waiting for me.
