"Isn't that your mom?" Luke asked confused.
"Yea that is," I said irritated.
After what happened yesterday I was prepared never to see her again.
She started to walk over to our table. I turned back to Luke with wide eyes.
"It's ok, I'm right here this time."
"I don't want her to come over here."
"She's walking over here now, you don't gotta say anything."
I nodded and prepared for her to approach us.
Soon a woman's body was right in front of me.
"Wow eating again, what did I tell you." She said crossing her arms.
"I think I look fine," I shot back.
"Who told you that?"
"I did," Luke butted in.
"Don't lie to her," She snapped.
"I'm not lying she's beautiful,"
"Mom can you please just leave me alone, you made it clear you didn't want anything to do with me. So please just act like you don't know me, it shouldn't be hard for you."
"You know what I told you yesterday, I just want you to make sure you know it."
"Trust me I know it."
She finally walked away after I stared her down for a couple more seconds. I turned back to Luke rolling my eyes.
"What did she tell you yesterday?"
"I don't really wanna say it all in the middle of Denny's," I said pushing my plate to the side.
Luke paid the restaurant and we walked back to his car.
"Ok do you wanna tell me what happened?" He asked again when we were in his car.
"When we get home," I said blankly.
He nodded and started up the car.
'Why's there always something going on in my life?' I thought
'Why can't I have just one day where everything is just chill and relaxed.'
"Whatcha thinkin' about?" Luke asked.
"Nothing, I was looking at the trees." I lied.
"Sure you were."
I looked over smiling at Luke, I could never understand how he could tell I was lying.
We pulled into his driveway and hopped into the car, I took off my shoes before running up the stairs. I ran into my actual room putting my shoes with all my other ones,
"Why do you always run in here?" Luke asked running in after me.
"Because my clothes are in here dummy," I laughed.
"I think we gotta move your clothes to our room."
"It's your room Luke, don't make me feel worse for invading."
"It's not invading if I want you there."
"I'd be more comfortable not taking up your entire closet."
"I wouldn't mind."
"Noooooo," I said laying out on the floor.
"It's fine now, but when we get married and buy a huge house. You're gonna have a huge closet to keep all your clothes in. Deal?"
