Does he really care?

I miss you

I walk back into my room shaking, grabbing my phone I had no idea what I am supposed to say.

"Molly!" I yelled. 

She came through the door.

"Yes?" She replied.

"What am I supposed to say?" 

"Apologize, tell her how you feel, say you understand if she doesn't want to get back with you-" I cut her off.

"What the hell Molly I want her back!" I start freaking out.

"Yes I'm aware Luke but you just need to listen to me, if not go ask mom," She says.

I listen to Molly and text Dakota.

'Hey Dakota I know I'm pretty sure I'm the last person you'd want to see pop up on your phone and I  know what I did was unforgivable and I really have no excuse to justify that what I did was wrong but I have been feeling awful for this past month and I just really need to give you a proper apology, I miss you so much and I just can't put into words how crappy I feel. I understand if you don't want anything to do with me and the last thing you'd wanna do is get back together but I just wanna say I'm sorry for everything I've done and I will always cherish the memories we had. If you need me I'll always be here for you.

I pressed send and put my phone down taking a deep breath. 

-Dakotas POV-

'Thank you' That's all I said, I was actually shocked that he used Lukey considering he hated when I called him that. 

He replied pretty quick

'Is there anything I can do to fix it?' 

'Lucas I'd love to try and fix things between us but we have to take it really slow,' I replied. 

'Understandable, so can I come over?' 

'Yes but I'm not doing anything,' I responded. 

'Ok deal omw' He said. 

I went upstairs and took a shower, afterward I changed into a t-shirt and shorts. The doorbell rang and I went downstairs, when I opened the door I saw Luke. He looked different than he used to. His eyes were baggy and his hair was overgrown and messed up. 

"Hey Dakota," He said looking at me sad.

"Hi Lucas," I smiled.

Once he saw me smiling his face lightened up and we walked inside.

"So why'd you wanna come over?" I questioned.

"Because I am going to fix this," He says. 

We decide to take a walk on the beach, we talked about what we wanted in the future and we both admitted we still wanted each other. It made me feel a little bit better when he told me that he thought about me every day. The two of us walked along the beach until the sun went down, Luke stopped me from walking so he could look at me while talking. 

"Dakota I don't know what happened to me that night, I know I lost all your trust and respect, I don't even know where I'm going with this statement but I just wanted to tell you."He started rambling.

I interrupted him with a hug. 

He wrapped his arms around me and we stayed like that for a while, Luke kisses the top of my head while I look at the sunset. After a few minutes, we walk back to the house, I make food for us and we eat at the countertop. 

"I missed your cooking," Luke said shoving his face.

I laughed as I continued eating. Once we were done eating dinner the both of us went into the backyard and watched a movie on my projector. It was getting cold and we were both sitting on the round futon.
