Luke, Molly, and I watched Tv until his mom called us for dinner.
"This is gonna be hard," Luke said trying to get up
"Dakota I can help you," Molly said
"No no, Luke is gonna need more help than me. Make sure he doesn't fall down the stairs on his crutches," I said as Molly let out a laugh
I waited until Luke and Molly were making their way out of the room before I even attempted to get up,
"Baby, are you ok?" Luke asked turning his head
"Yea I just have to move slower," I said
Luke crutched his way back over to me,
"Cmon lemme help," He said taking the blanket off of my legs
He extended his arm and I took it, he gently pulled me out of the bed and I got up standing on my own two feet.
"Ok let's go," I said trying to get to the door
Luke made it down the staircase before I did because he was able to sit on his butt and scoot down that way. He waited until I had reached the bottom and we walked into the dining room together.
"Ah, there's the crippled couple!" His dad yelled pulling out two chairs for us
"Haha very funny dad," Luke said
"Thank you, son, I always knew I should have been a stand-up comedian," He said stroking his beard.
I chuckled as Molly passed me a plate full of food.
"I made you a plate," she said "don't worry I left out the cauliflower cuz I know you don't like those," She whispered in my ear
"How did you know?" I asked astonished
"I could tell, I don't like them either," she said sticking her tongue out
"What about my plate Molly?" Luke asked
"Ughhh fine I'll get one for you, but you're getting extra cauliflower," She said stomping into the kitchen
Once everyone had their plates we all started eating, we talked about the best and worst parts of our day. I bet you could tell what mine was.
"So Dakota how are you feeling?" Lukes mom asked
"I am so sore," I said cutting a piece of chicken on my plate
"Yea, but what about pain?" She followed up
"Oh ya there definitely is a lot of pain still," I said shaking my head
"I can give you some advil tonight so hopefully you can get some sleep," She said
"That would be fantastic," I said before putting the piece of chicken into my mouth
"What about me mom? Do I get advil?" Luke asked
"Have I been giving you advil since you came home from the hospital?" His mom responded
"Yes," He said quietly
"Then there's your answer genius," Molly piped in
I snickered at her comment.
The rest of dinner consisted of small talk, after everyone was done Luke's dad collected all the plates and brought them to the sink. Luke and I made our way upstairs,
"Dakota go into my room," Molly said
"Can I go too?" Luke asked
"No, no boys allowed," She said
