I look down at her and her hands are trembling, I grab her hands and hold them tightly.

"Well, Luke I'm going to have to ask you to leave the room."

"Wait what no I-" I start.

"Luke I'll be fine I promise," She looks at me with a half smile.

I nod and walk out of the room and sit next to my mother.

<Dakotas POV>

The doctor tells me I have something wrong with the lab tests they took, and he asked Luke to leave the room. After some reassuring, he left and the doctor turned to me.

"We didn't actually find anything in your tests but Dakota I know these injuries aren't from a bike accident."

I looked at him shocked.

"I'd suggest going to see a mental health professional, they can help talk through things. I can imagine the things you've been going through, and I think you would benefit greatly from it."

I nodded with my mouth dropped open.

"Why are you out of bed, love," Luke whispers in my ear sending shivers down my spine, I'm going to miss that feeling.

"I was just uh looking out the window." I sorta lie.

Luke leads me back onto the hospital bed.

"What's bugging you, Dakota."

"You are gonna leave me because I'm weird," I mutter quickly and quietly.

Luke looks at me with a confused look, "Dakota I don't care if you were brain dead I would never ever leave you, I love you too much I can't even leave your side for an hour."

"Really you won't leave?" I asked really confused.

"I'm 1,000,000% serious I will never leave you," He says pulling me into a hug.

"That's a really big number," I mutter, Luke lets out a small chuckle.

"Hey, the doctor said we can leave so let's get out here," Luke says handing me some clean clothes to change into.

"No, I don't wanna leave." I pout

"And why is that?" Luke asks and pulls my chin up so I am staring at his hard blue eyes.

"I don't wanna go home," I say biting my bottom lip.

"God dammit your lip-biting drives me insane, and second you are staying at my house until your dad calms down."

"Oh uh sorry I guess, and thanks," I say while rubbing the back of my arm.

"Dakota, did you really think I was going to let you go home with your dad like this?" Luke asks with his eyes softening.

"I mean I don't know."

After I finish changing Luke, his mom, and I walk to the car. I slide in the back and Luke gets in next to me, I looked out the window as we drove from the hospital back to our neighborhood. We finally arrive at his house and make our way inside, Luke's sister is watching TV and his dad is on his phone in the kitchen.

"Honey I'm home." His mother calls out.

Luke's dad looks at us and sees me.

"Ah, Dakota good to see you again." Luke's father comes over to me and gives me a gentle hug.

Luke's sister gets up and walks over to us.

"Hi I'm Molly, I'm way better than Luke, and if he ever hurts you or does anything tell me and I'll be sure to break his nose." She says

Luke's arm snakes around my waist and I pretend that it hurt.

"Ow Luke what was that for" I cry.

Luke's face turns a light shade of pink and Molly runs after him, he runs away and Molly chases after him.

"I was kidding guys," I yell while laughing.

Molly stops chasing Luke and laughs, but Luke seems pissed.

"Dakota!" He yells and takes long strides toward me.

I back up but Luke has picked me up and slung me over his shoulders, I kick and squirm around but his grip just tightens. He walks up the stairs.

"Guys we are going into my room so don't come in," Luke yells back

I'm pouting with my arms crossed hanging over Luke's shoulder, his mom sees my face.

"Hey Luke be careful with her she's hurt," His mom winked at me and I smiled.

Luke carefully lays me on his bed and I grip my ribs because they were hurting from that uncomfortable trip up the stairs.
