We arrive at the apple store and get Dakota a black iPhone 7 with a marble case.
We head back home and as we are driving back home we pass Dakota's house, I notice her light is off so I assume she is asleep. When we get home I show my mom and sister what I picked out for Dakota."Oh my gosh I love it, you have such great taste." My mom says, I just laugh.
"Hey, why does your girlfriend for the week get a better phone than me." My 13-year-old sister, Molly complains.
"First of all she isn't my girlfriend of the week and second of all she is going through some stuff you couldn't imagine, so you shouldn't be complaining."
I walk up to my room and get Dakota's phone ready, I program the wallpaper to a picture of me and her when we went to the beach, she was on my shoulders and we were both laughing. I also programmed my number into her phone. After I plugged in her phone as well as mine I drifted off to sleep.
<Dakotas POV>
I woke up feeling extremely sore, I walk over and see all the bruises and cuts covering my body.
"Makeup is not going to cover this all up," I say to myself
I take a shower and throw on my red crop top jacket that just barely covers my bruising but I was too lazy to care today, along with some light blue jeans, with ankle-high boots, I grab my backpack and head downstairs to the kitchen.
I make my dad breakfast and lunch, then I leave for school, I pass Luke's house. I speed walk past Lukes's house actually, keeping my head down. I approach the school 30 minutes early, so I walk over to the benches and just sit down waiting for more people to arrive at school. Luke's car pulls up to the lot so I quickly head into the school not wanting to come into contact with him right now. I take time to get to my locker and exchange my books, Luke enters the building with Isabella right by his side.
"Not surprised" I mutter to myself
They walk right past me Isabella kicks me right in the leg where I had a big bruise. I whimpered but I remembered to show no emotions and maybe I wouldn't feel it. I make my way to class where I would have to see Luke. Heading to my normal seat in the back I look out the window and watch everyone else running into the school building. Soon enough Luke walks into the class, our eyes meet but I put my head back down as he takes the seat right next to me.
"Hey, Dakota." Luke tries.
I decided it would be best not to respond.
During the entire class period, Luke kept on asking me if I was ok and I would respond with simple answers like "Yup" or "I'm ok" and stuff like that.
~Lunch~
I decide to skip lunch and sit outside and just think, being by myself was one of the most relaxing things I could ever do in life. Unfortunately, I see Luke walk outside he starts looking around the schoolyard at everyone that was eating outside. I try not to directly look at him but I can still see he's looking around the yard, when he sees me sitting under the tree he starts making his way toward the little corner I was in.
"Dammit," I muttered.
"Oh thank god, I found you I was worried when I didn't see you in the lunch room."
"Yea I'm here," I say blankly.
Luke looks over at me while taking a seat.
"Dakota I'm sorry about yesterday, I didn't mean anything that I said. I realize that I was a really stupid thing to say, I know you are still trying to figure out who you can trust and I would want one of those people to be me." Luke says with a bright smile that made me a bit happier.
"L-Lucas"
"Yea," He says looking scared.
"You're the only one I trust," I tell him and watch his smile reappear on his face.
He tackles me to the ground and hugs me.
"It's Luke, not Lucas, babe." His deep voice says in my ear.
Pain shoots through my body.
"Ow! Luke get off please," I say holding my ribcage
He gets off and my jacket barely covers up my bruising but Luke doesn't see them.
"What's wrong love," He says curling his bottom lip.
"Um, nothing I just ran into the side of my nightstand this morning," I bite my lip and lie.
"First of all don't ever bite your lip like that again it turns me on, and second of all princess I've been in your room multiple times and you don't have a nightstand.
'Why was he so bold today?'
"Ummm... well there's the bell gotta go." I get up and run into the school building and into my next classroom which I also have with Luke.
<Lukes POV>
She lies and says she ran into the side of her nightstand this morning, I knew she was lying but what got me was when she bit her bottom lip.
'God she is so hot,' I thought to myself.
The bell rings and she gets up and runs to her next class, I'm following close behind her as we head into history. We take the seats in the back and the class starts, I keep glancing over at Dakota.
"What two significant events happened on July 4, 1828?" Our teacher asks.
Dakota's hand goes straight up in the air and her jacket goes up with it, revealing bruises that covered her whole stomach. I don't even listen to the answer I'm too focused on how she got those.
'What. How. When. Where!?! Her dad! That's why she lied to me at lunch."
The school day is over and I made Dakota come to my house.
"Dakota you are coming into my house," I tell her.
"Fine but only until 4:30 my dad gets home at 5 and I need to get his dinner ready," She tells me.
We enter my house and Dakota makes me set a timer on my phone for 4:30, I tell her to wait and I run into my sister's room and grab a pair of shorts for Dakota.
"Luke, what I'm I waiting for exactly?" She questions.
"Go in my bathroom and put these on," I tell her.
<Dakotas POV>
He tosses me some of his sister's shorts and tells me to put them on, I look at him and back at the shorts. He nods towards his bathroom for me to put the clothes on, but I know when I do all the bruises and cuts will be visible.
