-Dakota's POV-

After Luke and I ate breakfast he went out to the store to get the book I asked for.

"How's Miss Dakota feeling," My grandma asked walking into my room.

"I feel okay, still have a lot of pain though."

"I'm sorry, at least you are in a comfortable bed though," She cheered.

I laughed at her effort to make me feel better while agreeing.

After a little while of talking, she went back downstairs and Luke came back home.

"I have a special delivery for Dakota Williams," He said walking through the door.

I smiled up at him as he took the book out of the bag, "Thank you."

"Of course," he said handing me the book. "Would you like to start it outside?"

I nodded beginning to sit up on my bed, Luke got me a heavy jacket from my closet and helped me get it on before we made our way to the stairs.

"What are you gonna work on?" I asked as he carried me to the back porch.

"I need to catch up on a book we are reading in my English class."

He placed me on an outdoor day bed that was on the deck.

"I'm gonna go grab my stuff from upstairs do you need anything?" He asked.

"Can you bring me a pen and a blanket please?"

"Yea, I'll be right back."

He went back into the house and I admired the scenery around me. It felt weird that a few weeks ago I was just running in the sand with my cousins playing football, and now I couldn't even walk on my own. It almost felt like I was dreaming this whole thing up, but I knew every time I moved slightly that I was not dreaming.

"I have one pen, and one blanket," Luke announced opening the back door.

I snapped out of my thoughts and took the pen he was holding out. Luke sat down next to me and covered us both up with the blanket.

Luke spoke up after the first hour of us reading, "I'm bored."

"How much have you read?" I asked looking up at him.

"Enough, wanna go get food?"

"I don't want to move, but you can go get food," I smiled.

"I can go get us both food

"I'm not hungry, my stomach kinda hurts."

"Does your stomach hurt because you're hungry?"

"No," I laughed softly.

"Do I need to be worried?"

I laughed again, "Also no."

"Okay I'm trusting you," He said nodding slowly.

"Wait can you help me get back upstairs?"

"Wow, you're already done reading too" He laughed.

"Yea I just think I need to lay down inside."

I winced in pain as he picked me up off the daybed and carried me up the stairs.

"Are you sure you're good?"

I nodded trying to sit up.

"Where are you going now?" He asked.

"Bathroom," I exhaled.

I was able to hobble to the bathroom counter where I was hunched over the sink.

"Babe, why aren't you telling me what's going on?" He asked.
