Ziyi’s POV

I have no idea how long Nana has been gone. I feel as I lost track of time completely. I wake up every day, go to work. I try to look for Mina but I haven’t seen her too. Is she sick? Does she just avoid me? My mind is occupied by Nana’s runaway and Mina. There is nothing else I can think of. I can't even properly do my meal. I can’t do my job but since Mr. Choi is also worried he doesn’t even notice if I’m at work. He decided to go to the police in the end but they said it looks like a runaway and there is no evidence to suspect something else happened. It is true in some way. I believe she is safe. Devastated but safe. The proof is the message from her we all received. “Don’t look for me. I’m ok.” It says. We tried to call her but her phone was turned off right after sending the message.
Xukun unfortunately can think only of the worst. He has no idea where Nana might be. Actually none of us has. We checked everything. Even Nana’s late mother old house but someone lives there now and they said they had never seen her.  There is no reason for not believing them. Why does she has to be so stubborn? If she just let us explain…but I am not the right person to say that, am I? I myself believed that. I even punched my best friend because of that and it turned out it was all for nothing. I guess she will feel stupid when she finally finds out the truth.

Yanjun has been trying to find some tracks of Nana even though it is not easy. Good thing Mr. Choi and Mr. Fan have money and respect so there are more possibilities to look for her. Money can’t give you everything but indeed in some situations they might be useful. Nonetheless it’s better to be alone and rich then alone and poor. But I don’t know anymore…maybe it’s the other way around.

Suddenly I can hear my phone ringing. I sigh thinking of one thing. Xukun again. Xukun always calls me when he can’t catch Yanjun. Yanjun doesn’t like being distracted so he turns off his phone while working. I have told Xukun million times that I have no idea what Yanjun does since I am not next to him but he keeps calling me anyway. He probably hopes I’m with Yanjun by chance though it hasn’t happened yet and I don’t think it will. I don’t want to disturb him and I won’t be any help to him anyway.

“Yes,” I answer the phone not looking at the screen before.

“Ziyi? Come to my practise room. I have something that might be useful,” says a feminine voice to my surprise. I don’t have a chance to respond since the girl hangs up before I can analyse everything. It takes me a second to realise it was Mina’s voice.

Not thinking twice I rush to the practise room. I ran through the corridors gaining my co-workers attention but I don’t really care about it. All I think about is Mina and what she has to say to me. I can feel my heart beating rapidly but I don’t know if Mina is the reason or it’s because of running.

I finally get to the door and open them harshly. I enter the room breathing in and out intensively. Am I really that bad at running?

“You’re fast,” Mina says emotionless. Her hair combed into a pony tail. She stands straight looking at me and holding some papers in her hand. Her arms are crossed in front of her. It’s hard to say if she is still hurt by what Xukun did. I feel guilty. I should have stopped him from coming inside. I feel a strange need to hug her but I don’t think she would be pleased. But maybe she wants it too…but even if she did she would push me away. Like everyone else.

“Mina, where have you been? I haven’t seen you in the company or anywhere else. I was worried,” I say and for a slight second her expression softens as if she was touched but soon she comes back to ‘herself’. “You shouldn’t have. I’m fine,” she answers coldly. Mina puts her hand with the papers in front of me. I look at them and then at her again before I finally understand that she wants me to take them. Sometimes my brain doesn’t work well around her. As if she was switching it off every time.
