ZEKE
"We're following him, " I say, grabbing Uriah. Mom shakes her head. "No you two are staying. I have to go with him." "Mom, I'm not letting you get hurt. We don't know what's going on, " I argue.

"I don't wanna lose you like we lost Tris!" Mom screams. "Well I don't wanna lose you like we lost dad!" I scream back. There's a long silence. "Watch the footage and find out what's going on," Uriah demands. "Text us when you figure it out." She finally gives in.
TOBIAS
I see Zeke and Uriah running at the train, but they get in before I could close the door. "Four, what the hell is going on?" Zeke asks. I course my lips. "Stay out of this, Zeke. This has nothing to do with you."

"Tris was my sister!" He screams. "If anything it isn't your business!" It's more of my business than he realizes. "It is my business because you have no clue who his son is, " I growl. "And you do?" It goes silent for a long time, almost ten minutes, and all we hear is the train tracks.

"I was in abnegation. I knew everyone." I look out the door and see abnegation. "You two are gonna ride back to dauntless and tell everyone that I'm just taking care of something, you understand." They shake their heads.

"We're coming with you." I yank the four closed as I jump out into the grass, rolling down a slight hill into the uniform houses of abnegation. I turn and see them rolling behind me. "Friends don't leave each other behind, " Zeke says, helping me up.

"Fine, but you stay behind me and do whatever I say." They nod and we run to my old home. We stop outside just for me to look at the building. I used to live here. This was my home, the only place I had ever known.

All of a sudden, adrenaline takes over and I break the door down, running in with my guns up. Marcus Eaton and Andrew Prior sit at the kitchen table but turn when they see us.

They jump up. "What is the meaning of this?" Andrew shouts. "Nice to see you, traitor, " Marcus says calmly. I scowl. "Uriah, keep them there, " I growl, dropping my gun to my side.

I walk to the basement and open the door. There are faint and faded bloody footprints in the old wooden stairs. I raise my gun and slowly walk for. My heart is pounding out of my chest and I don't know if I want to see what's down here or not. I continue anyway.

I stop when I reach the bottom, seeing a small, bloody body naked and chained to a support beam. Tris. I turn to Zeke before he can see it. "Get a blanket or something, " I snap, putting hands on his chest.

He tries to look, but I push him up. I'm not letting him see her like this. Not a chance. He runs up and I run down. I set my gun down and kneel next to the frail body. I feel no emotion as I wrap my jacket around her and zip it. She's so small. So frail.

Zeke runs down and freezes on the stairs, hand cupping his mouth. I run over and grab the blanket, wrapping it around her legs. "Shoot the chain!" I shout to Zeke. He doesn't move. "Shoot the fucking chain!" He scrambles for his gun and sparks my everywhere, hitting my face and bare arms.

I pick her up like a baby as Zeke runs at us. The adrenaline starts to wear off and tears form in my eyes. "Tris. Oh my God, Tris, " he whispers, trying to move her matted hair that's dyed red from blood.

I try to hear a heartbeat but hear nothing. "Tris, breathe. Come on, Tris, " I whisper more to myself than to her. Come on, she can't be dead. Not after all this time. Not out Tris. She's a fighter. Better than anyone I know.

Right as I begin to lift her again, I hear loud thumping coming from the stairs.

I instantly set Tris down and look over. A large body, dressed in black, tumbles loosely down the stairs. I hear every bone and muscle that hits on the way down. Zeke and I run over.
